We had the good fortune of connecting with Cyn Silva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cyn, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I have learned over the years to remember to take time to nurture myself. It is something we forget to do, to take time to replenish, smell the coffee, smell the roses and live each day like it is our last. Treat people kindly, you never know what they are going through. The balance I have learned over the past ten years has helped my mindset when I create Art.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It was not easy getting to where I am today, and it still is never easy. We all have challenges in life, it is how we handle those challenges. I always try to create solutions so I can move on quickly to the next endeavor or life’s curve balls. When I create a new art piece, I put my whole heart, mind and soul into the art piece. I typically have a vision of the art idea in my mind, then I put it onto a canvas and take as much time as I need to until I am 100 percent satisfied with the end result and finished original piece. I never rush anything and I love feeling confident when I create a piece of original art to the fullest degree that I am capable of.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the Desert Botanical Garden, such a beautiful place that you can walk for hours if you wish, The restaurant there is peaceful as well. I love hiking up the many mountains we have, Camelback, Pinnacle Peak, Toms Thumb and Piestewa Peak So many music venues, Arizona Ballet, Herberger Theatre, Orpheum Theatre, Sports arena’s and as many top amazing restaurants that your heart desires. My favorite place is Old Town in Scottsdale, I love going thru art galleries and supporting our many talented artists in our Valley.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many insightful people I have met along the way in pursuing my art career since I was 12. I remember school teachers, art teachers, architects I worked for that made me who I am today. My goal in life is to help and do the same. I love inspiring young emerging artists and older generation artists as well, who seek to become the best artist they can!
