We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Bigay and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daniel, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Consistency is key. Some days you will win and some days you wont but the key is to continue creating and showing up. Ive learned that consistency also forms habit, getting into a good habit of creating and pushing the ball forward becomes second nature and normal.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Im a street artist, mural painter and character creator. I create stories through my art that portray a certain moment in my life or social issue Iv been directly affected by. Iv been selling, promoting, marketing and creating my own artwork and brand for over 10 years. Its been a long and difficult journey as a self taught and promoted artist but I wouldn’t change it for the world. Getting my artwork seen by the public was the most challenging part for me. Once I started to use more social media like instagram and facebook the reach I found was much easier for me to scale the business and promote my artwork so more people could see it, thus getting me more potential clients. Being from Puerto Rico I would meet other artist from the island and we would set up EEVRS. (Expo En Vida Real) where we could present our newest collections to the public. After 10 plus years as a independent street artist we created BADWABBITZNFT. A pfp art project based around community building and NFTs. We focus on educating people about NFTs while creating custom artwork for your social media profile that are unique to each individual.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hiking in Sedona Taco Chelo on Roosvelt Ave is a must.
Brunch at Snooze.
I love the nature in Arizona, you cant go wrong with a small hike to hole in the rock or a longer road trip to the lost dutchmans state park.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Gary Vee and Li Hu. Li Hu has been by far the most influential person in my life. A Chinese painter who I had the great fortune to meet in person before his passing. He taught me to practice everyday and better your skills.
