We had the good fortune of connecting with Danny Silvertone Silvertone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Danny Silvertone, how do you think about risk?
Being a musician is mostly risk. Especially nowadays -there are so many people attempting to do this. You have to be consistent and make a plan, and sometimes the move that doesn’t always seem like the sure thing is often times the exact decision you should make. High risk usually equals high yield.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a really active involvement with my creative process. For example, the single I just released, -‘Cameo’ – I hired a very specific photographer from my hometown, designed the cover art and produced the instrumental myself. Before, coming up with a record would be difficult, but with the technology that’s available to us I believe its easier now more than ever to get in front the audience that would appreciate your work. Once I recognized this, I really had to take the time to invest in my craft and make music that I felt like really represented me. One thing you have to know about me, is that I work really hard and I’m not afraid of just figuring out how something works myself. I’m very DIY! There’s been many companies over the past few months who have come along and been made apart of my process, but the final product is something I’ll always have a heavy involvement with.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If someone was visiting the Phoenix area I’d most likely take them to the east valley. I like that area a lot and it’s where I grew up. One of my favorite spots in town is the Postino near Fasion Square. Then, I’d take them West Gate. West Gate is far from Fashion Square but it’s worth the trip! At some point I’d be sure to bring them to Papago park (probably on the way to west gate) – then I’d end the day at Tempe town lake. Honestly I’m tempted to just do this weekend! Haha.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes out to hard rock band Arsenic Kitchen – they’re really killing it right now and I’m proud of them!
