We had the good fortune of connecting with David Kaheh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi David, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

For most of my life, I’ve been self-employed.  I enjoy business and going after new opportunities. I was never a fan of taking orders to fulfill someone else’s dreams when I have my own to fulfill. I’ve been an entrepreneur my whole life and that has allowed me to travel and live all over the world including Europe and Asia.

For the last 20 years, my family and I have been settled here in America. I’m proud to say for 19.5 of the 20 years we’ve been here, I have worked for myself.

I moved to the United States in July 2003 and only had $500 in my pocket.

I worked hard and understood with consistency and dedication I could achieve the American Dream. I recognized that America’s financial structure is built to take you where you want to be in life. It just takes dedication & guidance, and then, the sky is the limit.

Today, I can say, I am an example of the American Dream. Having started with so little and now, today I own around 50 properties including car dealership lots, bus lots, ranches, and homes.

What I think sets me apart from others, is that I never give up on my projects. I never stop until I finish what I start. I don’t obsess over the immediate profit, I know the money will follow a good idea and hard work.

When I moved to this country 20 years ago, I was broke. And now, I stand here today with financial freedom, proud of all the people I have been able to help along the way.

It’s the old saying, one day you come here and one day you go, and you can’t take anything with you when you leave. I’ve learned, achieving goals is what makes my life beautiful.

In many ways, it’s the sense of achievement and accomplishment that keeps me going. As I look back and see all the things I did and all the people I met along the way, and all the people who have worked for me or who I was able to help, those are what make the stories of my life.

I keep getting up, every day and solving problems, each one of them different. I get up, choose to be happy, and do it again.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I have always had more than one business, and today, I run 4 successful businesses.

I am a licensed Real Estate investor with Offer Now USA and Ryder’s Investments. I own residential and commercial buildings, and just purchased a large 8-acre commercial lot right in downtown Phoenix last May. I own a large motor coach repair shop in Phoenix, Southwest Coach Care, and for a while I owned Ryders Auto Sales.

I am the owner of Divine Charter with offices in both Phoenix & Flagstaff, AZ. Divine Charter is a full-service charter bus rental company with luxury coaches and shuttles driving all across the state of Arizona for all size groups to all sorts of destinations. We have an amazing team.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I recommend taking guests for dinner either at Rustler’s Rooste in Phoenix for a taste of the southwest or enjoying dinner at Mastro’s Steakhouse  in Scottsdale for a high-end steak dinner.

My out-of-town guests always enjoy it when we rent a casita at the Phoenician Resort and hang out for a couple of days. We like to visit old-town Scottsdale, AZ, and eat at any one of the beautiful old-town restaurants. Then, head over to Sedona, AZ, and catch some easy fish at Sedona Rainbow Trout Farm

We like to go see the Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona and stay overnight in Flagstaff and grab dinner at Black Barts Steakhouse. After that, you could take a trip to the Grand Canyon. I highly recommend riding a mule down the canyon if you can and stay overnight at Phantom Ranch, which always ends with good laughs and beautiful views.

The next day, you could travel back to Flagstaff to see the Meteor Crater Natural Landmark and stay for the night to enjoy the Lowell Observatory.

Another idea, drive down to Tucson, AZ and see Kartchner Caverns State Park with a stop at Pima Air & Space Museum with an overnight stay in Loews Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson Arizona.

Then, come on back to Phoenix and hike Camelback Mountain and have breakfast at “elements” a wonderful restaurant at Sanctuary Resort. You’ll want to enjoy a big meal after your hike up and around Camelback.

There are so many things to see in Arizona that you can’t even get to all of them in one week.  There’s Lake Powell & Horse Shoe Bend and river rafting in the Grand Canyon. There are so many wonderful things to see and do all over Arizona. That’s why we live and work here.

If you’re looking to book a group trip, come rent a shuttle or charter bus from us at Divine Charter! You can just sit back, enjoy the ride, enjoy your group and leave the driving to us. We host a lot of family reunions, corporate retreats, athletic teams, church trips, and weddings, all across Arizona.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I don’t have a mentor, nor was I looking for one. I can say, Barry Gwinn, my father-in-law, has been someone who I admire a lot. He is a retired FBI agent & lawyer and knows the meaning of hard work and dedication. Plus, he raised a beautiful, intelligent daughter and I admire that the most.

Another person to give credit to, would be Jason Kaplan. He’s learned a lot in the transportation business and has shared his insights with me and my team. I’d like to give a shoutout to him for being a great leader.
