Meet DeAndrea “Queen De” Muhammad | Recording Artist & Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with DeAndrea “Queen De” Muhammad and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi DeAndrea “Queen De”, what matters most to you?
The principles of personal integrity and treating others how I want to be treated are most important to me. Integrity is “the quality of having strong ethical or moral principles and following them at all times, no matter who’s watching.” This is important to me because my faith is not only what I believe in, but how I live my life day to day. I want my audience and people I encounter to be able to see that though my actions and interactions. I want it to be felt through every exchange. Of the very rudimentary basis of all human interactions, is the second principle I strive to live my life by: “Treat others how you want to be treated.”. This principle is so basic but transcends time, religion, class and location. If I am ever unsure on myself or in doubt when making a decision about how to respond or react, I fall back to the basics. It has gotten me through hard times and emotional exchanges. It is a skilled captain in troubled waters.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a music creative in the genre of rhythm and poetry. My music is positive and conscious. The instrumentals feature mellow to jazzy instrumentals and lyrics speak of everyday life, spirituality and relationships. I love being able to express my thoughts and spread positivity around the globe. The music speaks to the soul and sparks emotion in the heart. It is never easy to pursue your passion, but after trials come ease. To overcome the trials in life I continue to work hard. The biggest lesson I have learned is to grant myself grace when I feel as if I have not made my mark. I try not to take failures hard, but try to learn the lesson in them. Of all things, I want the world to know that it is victory and joy in living life with purpose and that one of the biggest gifts is Peace.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, I would definitely have to show them the best time ever. We would grab some great vegetarian and vegan eats at “The Coronado” located in the historic Coronado district . Then we would head over to Downtown phoenix and looks at some pretty crystals at “Stardust & Sage” and maybe catch a sound bath session. If we were lucky we would be able to experience some really good live music at the Chandler Center for the Arts or the Desert Botanical Gardens.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to “Shoutout” a beautiful sister and friend Asiyah “SeeSee” Michelle. We were able to collaborate and vibe on a recent single of my “Go Round”.
