We had the good fortune of connecting with Deb Floros and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Deb, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I work full time as well as running my own business. Work life balance seems impossible at times, but I always make sure that I take time for my family, volunteering, and some “me time” on a regular basis. Because my business (Jewelry Design) is my passion, I sometimes classify my creative sessions as “me time”! Balance is key! It’s not always easy, but planning and keeping a schedule helps!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a jewelry designer and make one of a kind pieces (for the most part) that come straight from all of the inspirations around me. I am inspired by the beauty of the Arizona Landscape and wildlife, fashion, and the materials themselves (beads, findings and artisan elements). I’m most proud and excited about the progression of my skills and my bravery to take the leap to formalize my business on my own! Both are significant accomplishments particularly with the limited time I have on a daily basis. When I work at my designs and anything related to my business, I work hard. Always 100% (and sometimes more). Not easy to pull it all off, but I want to be successful so I keep going and put forth my full effort. I want the world to know that my jewelry is my passion and everything I make is completely from the heart. My brand is Deb Luvs Jewelry Design…with the intentional use of the word Luv (=love).
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
When friends come to town, we love to show them around Cave Creek and areas of Scottsdale to take advantage of the sampling shopping and food! Chelsea’s Kitchen is a restaurant that is delicious, comfortable and a great place to catch up. At the end of a busy day touring around, I like to take them to enjoy some live music and drinks at Janey’s Coffee Company in Cave Creek. Such a fun and relaxing vibe!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes out to all of my creative friends who make a living being creative and selling their art. The dedication, passion and hard work they put forth every day inspires me to keep going too!
