We had the good fortune of connecting with Devotera Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Devotera, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
The single most important decision I’ve ever made that contributed to 2 Left Feet LLC’s success is the decision to be consistent. More so consistent in working on my business and adapting to current trends, state of war, pandemics, and overall environment (adjusting whom I surround myself-my circle). This drive comes from the original reason I started my business. I wanted to genuinely support my son’s dreams, which meant I had to pursue my own!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets us apart from others is our ability to teach multiple styles, ages, genders, and dance levels: new to dance, beginners, intermediate, advanced, and professional. We can teach lessons online, in person, and at different locations. We can also assist with transporting our clients/students back and forth from their classes & performances. We are very innovative and in the works on making other exciting additions to our company.

I got to where I am at professionally by pushing through obstacles and finding solutions no matter how small it may have seemed. Making small adjustments helped with the overall success of 2 Left Feet in an easier manner.

Some of the lessons I have learned along the way is adjusting my goals, finding different ways to execute tasks, being comfortable with change, and balancing my circle.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family plays a major role in my growth-

My son, Terence Jr., has helped me with choreography, music selection, scheduling appointments, teaching clients, following up with clients, and so much more! He helps and supports me! I am truly grateful and I am blessed with a son like him!
