We had the good fortune of connecting with Dina Foglio and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dina, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
Success to me is happiness, continuing to thrive and enjoy what you do and never stop learning or wanting to learn. The minute you lose interest in wanting to evolve, you’re done.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career started when I was 40 when I decided to enroll myself in Aesthetics school so that I can work full-time to support my family as a single Mother.  I fell in love with this industry and continue to hone my skills taking class after class and getting as many certifications as possible to keep growing and thriving while building my clientele and learning as much as I could. It took time to gain recognition in the community, but I was patient and just kept slaying the day away until I became well known in the community for esthetics. I also understood the importance of marketing myself and standing out from others on social media. I had already had some experience with graphic design because I was a blogger before I became an aesthetician, I quickly learned that social media was a stomping ground for Medspas and that to stand apart from others you really had to understand graphic design, Instagram, and Facebook, algorithms and content creation which was a whole other beast that took a lot of time to grasp. However, I do think it has paid off. I get most of my business primarily through Instagram that has become my portfolio/résumé. With my video content and before and after photos, I’ve learned that you can easily set yourself apart from others just by being yourself, keeping it personable, as well as professional, and not worry too much about your competition. There is plenty of business for everyone if you stay focused on yourself, your business, your clientele, your outcomes, that is all that matters. People go to people not places so be sure others can sense that you love what you do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
While I was at the Clearskin Institute I stayed in downtown Phoenix and fell in love with the food and culture there. The Art on the buildings were amazing. If you want great steak or pasta go to the Arrogant Butcher, also Zen Tai Cafe was the best Tai food I’ve ever had. Just over the way were gorgeous views of Palm trees and mountains including camel back mountain. Pro sports arenas were walking distance from where we stayed and the trolly made it easy to get around. You don’t need a car downtown. I can’t wait to go back.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have many inspirations all of which I follow on Instagram. I see so many Aestheticians and people in my industry slaying it daily, taking control of their careers and freedom and being creative on social media to promote themselves. I’ve learned so much and have grown so much just based on who I follow and the information they put out such as graphic designer tips or SEO help, reels inspiration, post ideas, story hacks etc. I also love to see people in their space cranking out awesome before and after photos and changing peoples lives based on their high quality work and outcomes. That is what I strive for with my clientele and that positivity is what I follow and inspires me on social media.
