We had the good fortune of connecting with Diyar Al asadi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diyar, what is the most important factor behind your success?
as a painter, there are many important factors that need to be perfected before reaching success. when I was a young artist in Jordan dreaming of producing the perfect painting going to 2nd school after high school to spend the rest of my day practicing the art techniques to find my style as I try to find my way to the masterpiece painting. my teacher at that time told me that there’s no perfect Painting or perfect artist but she also told me, “you can be a successful artist”. After 10 years of consistently practicing my art techqiues and working as a full-time artist, I understand what she meant. As for me, Ive grown to be a successful freelance artist. I learned the factors of my work is; discipline, focus, goals to reach, endless art studies and the most important is believing in doing my 100% on each Painting to make it a masterpiece.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I do paintings – acrylic on canvas. I’ve always been fascinated with the rich heritage of the traditional Islamic art and I’d love to make it more accessible to a broader public through my work and the contemporary interpretation I give it. My work is known for its details and precisions of both color and form. It often takes thousands of hours of brushstrokes to complete a painting. My art is a form of meditation similar to the rituals of a whirling sufi through which I seek to create a connection between the past and the present; the spiritual and the physical; and use it as an inspiration to push the boundaries of beauty, balance, gender, religion, culture, and spirituality.I mostly proud of the stage of experience i reached with art so far, when people walk by my artwork and they take a moment to gaze into my paintings and colors, i can see their mind dances with the color of the Canvas like a Sufi whirling dance. Lately, I been so excited for the recognition and the opportunity to have my Paintings shipped globally .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I know all of the best hidden sunsets spots in Phx Az, because we have the one of the best sky to look at. I been living in phx since October 2017. I also know if great restaurants with amazing food like the Parisian Room. Papa go rock and to Phx zoo are great staples here in Phoenix. You can imagine how the rest of the week look like around phx by only being in this amazing city.
