We had the good fortune of connecting with Dolly Eide and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dolly, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was ready to start something new, get out of my comfort zone, and challenge myself.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Getting to where I am today has been the result of many wonderful life experiences. After college I was hired by Alaska Airlines to work in Juneau, AK. It was my first real job and I loved it. I met my husband who was a pilot for Alaska. We lived in Juneau for five years and transferred to Seattle as our new base. I worked for Alaska for nine years and then stayed home with our two children. When an opportunity to work part-time for a pediatrician came up I agreed even though I had no experience in the medical field. It turned out to be a wonderful learning experience, the ability to work outside the home but still be able to be the mom I wanted to be. It also gave me time to become very involved in my community. Serving on various boards from PTA, Little League, Hospital Auxiliary and Community schools. The job in pediatrics lead me to become the clinic manager of the satellite in Federal Way, WA for Children’s Hospital. Those 14 years flew by as both my children graduated from high school and were in college. For the next few years I worked as a substitute secretary in the school district. I enjoyed the flexibility of working when I wanted and again learning new things. This next period was very educational and exciting. Myself along with other women started an investment club. At the beginning there were about 20 of us. When we decided to disband after 24 years there were four of the original members left. My interest in stocks was introduced by a teacher in junior high. I was so excited to finally learn more and invest in the stock market. And learn we did. I’m proud that the club was highlighted not once but twice by the national organization of investors. It gave me the confidence to be a very successful investor for my husband and myself and I also have created portfolios for my grandkids college funds. During this time my husband retired and we started dividing our time between WA and AZ. It’s been fun to meet new people and develop wonderful relationships, learn to play golf and lots of fun activities. But I was itching for something more. I was introduced to products that I really liked. It was suggested I could start my own business. I wasn’t sure it was for me but then I started thinking. Why not give it a shot. I was looking to learn new things, wanted to get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself. If I made a little money, it would be a bonus. Ten years later it was one of my best decisions. It hasn’t always been easy but I’ve never wanted to give up. I love the community I’m part of and am committed to showing others they too can build something for themselves.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh boy, how do you narrow it down. We have spent the winters in AZ for 23 years and there are still places we have not explored and visited.

We enjoy golf so there would be a couple of round of golf. We are proud of our community so Oakwood at Sun Lakes for sure. Ocotillo Golf Course is beautiful so I would recommend it as well.

We have seen many great performers at Chandler Center for the Arts so we would need to check out their schedule. Our community has various tribute bands so that could be a possibility.

When we have guests we enjoy a trip to Tucson to visit Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and a stop at In-N-Out on the way home.

Downtown Chandler is a great place to walk and take in all the shops. There are great options for dining. It’s fun to walk through San Marcos Hotel and all the history of Chandler.

Scottsdale and Old Town has lots of options.

Tempe Town Lake is a fun walk.

If Spring Training is going on it’s a fun thing to do, especially to watch the Mariners!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents were loving and supportive but in a very quiet way. I don’t recall them giving me praise and saying you can do anything you set your mind to but they never stopped me from trying new things. I’ve been married 52 years and I have to say my husband, Doc, has been my supportive force. He believes in me and encourages me to be the best person I can be.
