Meet Dominic Fusco | Lifestyle and Wellness Entrepreneur & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominic Fusco and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dominic, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Social media allows us to reach and impact more people than anything. I believe that if I can connect with one person and help them become the best version of themselves, it then creates a domino effect. My business is more than just a business; it is a movement that educates, inspires, and empowers others to start their health and wellness journeys and recognize their full potential. When we are able to show up as the best version of ourselves, the whole world benefits from us being at our best, and that is what I believe contributes to a thriving society.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I create art in the form of content. Each podcast episode that I am fortunate enough to record with each incredible guest explores new topics and discussions that were never had before. Each piece of content that I produce is a chapter in the book of my life that I am writing and I want others to be able to learn and grow from my experiences and the stories I tell. Connecting with others has always been my superpower and I am grateful for the platforms that allow me to connect with and reach so many incredible human beings. What started as just a podcast amidst the pandemic turned into a personal training and nutrition coaching business, which has now turned into a movement of others empowering themselves through health and wellness to break the mold of what they thought was possible for themselves.
This all started after I tore my ACL during my sophomore season of playing college football. It was the first time in my life I wasn’t able to use fitness and athletics as an escape or as an outlet. I had to start from scratch. Then, that led to a back injury that caused me even more physical, mental, and emotional pain than knee surgery. Shortly after that, I found myself staring at myself in the bathroom mirror of my mom’s house, hungover, asking myself if this was how I wanted to continue living my life.
The answer was no.
From that day on, I committed to striving for more for myself and launched my podcast, Pure Ambition (at the time called ‘Days with Dom’) to help others find their purpose while simultaneously searching for my own.
After a year and a half of interviewing incredible humans and relentlessly rehabbing myself back from injuries, I found a love and passion for health and wellness, specifically the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. It inspired me to take a gap semester and get certified as a Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach to help show others what is possible for themselves.
After wrapping up my football career, graduating, launching my own training and coaching business, working with a startup, and moving more into the content creation space, I realize that all of this came about because of the energy I showed up with on a daily basis, and never lost sight of who I am becoming and the mission I am on: inspire and empower 100 million people to become the happiest, healthiest versions of themselves.
I am now blessed to be doing a number of things: growing the Pure Ambition podcast and community, creating content and working with mission-driven brands, building Upspace- which is a social media platform for all things wellness, coaching and training clients to become the best versions of themselves, and pursuing new athletic goals and sharing my tips and tricks I learn along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am what they called us in college, an ROP (right outside Philly) guy. I have the luxury of being a 35-minute drive from Philly, but also get the suburban lifestyle that I enjoy, so they are going to get the best of both worlds.
First things first, we are going directly from the airport down to Kelly drive for a run along the Schuylkill River, then we’re heading to Dallesandro’s in Manayunk for a cheesesteak. They are the best in the city, hands down.
We would have to spend a day at a hometown staple, Marsh Creek State Park where we will take the paddle boards out on the lake for the day. The sunsets there are unmatched, too.
Assuming it is a weekend, we have to head down to Lincoln Financial Field to watch an Eagles game. Pregame we are going to Chickie’s and Pete’s which is a must. There’s your standard NFL gameday experience, and then there is a Philadelphia Eagles gameday experience.
Every day we’d be running or lifting somewhere new at one of the incredible trails or gyms in Chester County, and the trip would not be complete without a trip to Milky Way Farms for some ice cream. Ice cream is my weakness.
Jumping all around in terms of seasons here, but assuming my friend would be around for New Year’s Day, we are getting up before the sun and going down to Philly for the Mummer’s parade.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my mom, for her endless love, and support, and who has always shown that the greatest rewards in life come through serving others.
And, my friends Jonah and Shaun for continually reminding me to get out of my own head.
