We had the good fortune of connecting with Donna May and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Donna, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Take the negative and turn it to a positive!

I can’t leave a negative out there, I always have to do what I can to change the negative till it is a positive. Most people just hold on to the negative that is around them. I try to inspire them to look at the positive in any situation. If people only hold onto the negative then nothing positive will happen in their life.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have been a bookkeeper since you had to complete them in very large ledger books on a large table. I have been a business owver to 6 companies and once there were sold I moved to another area of CA and procedded to open 4 additional companies. once the decision to move to AZ was made I torned my Home School over to another home school, turned my landscaping company over to a few of the students from my home school (to be run and assisted by parents of the children), I left my janitorial business to a compamy that was setting up training for Military persons returning with PTSD. This will allow them to work with in the paramiters of the PTSD they experienced. I then brought my bookkeeping and tax offoce with me and have set up my office in Sierra Vista AZ.

For the last 5 years I have completed many tax returns for persons that needed the return however did not have the money to pay to get them done. I just said ” leave me a tip for a soda or a cup of coffee”. I still have all of these as customers and now they pay what they can and refer me to friends and family (that do pay). Sometimes you just have to do something and say pay it forward.

I am most likely no different from any other bookkeeper or tax preparer I can only be me. I know that I do my absolute best for all my clients and will continue to do so.

I look forward to my business growing in the coming years.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My husband Russ and I were just married in Tombstone AZ. This is one of our favorite places and a large reason why we moved to Sierra Vista AZ area. We visit our Tombstone as often as we can. We have friend in Casa Grande and Yuma as well as other states. We home body people and I work so much that we tend to stay n our neck of the area when we have down time.

I have reached out to the Vigilanes and vigilettes and I am excited to say they tell me to come on and visit them, if I like it I can become a part of them. I am excited as this will be a fun and exciting thing for Russ and I to do together.

We love Taco Tuesday at Rodolfo’s Taco Shop, Jersey Mikes, Jimmy Johns, Mod Pizza, Sonic Drive in, Clvers, Chili’s, Carls Jr and Russ and I both like to cook.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My clients that have stayed with me from day one in CA and still with me for the final more to Sierra Vista AZ, as well as my new clients and friends like James Hale owner of Spectral Feather Drone Service and Carolyn Doose, MSN, RN, owner of GLO Aesthetics & Hydration, and Raul Celado of SaniClean Solution LLC, Claudia Larios with Stellar Nails, Lanea Kellog with Nails Redefined. I also have to give a shout out to Cameron Sparks owner of Sparks Furniture for taking a chance on a newby to Sierra Vista AZ and hired me to work for him at his furniture store. My husband Russ is my #1 supporter. No matter what new idea I have he just says what do you want me to do to help you get there? I have meet so many wonderful people since moving to Sierra Vista in 2021. I truly believe that my husband Russ and our 2 dogs Mr. Vito and Miss Pebbles and our cat Miss Sassy are in the best town for us. we are home in our home and in my new Bookkeeping and tax office.
