We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Reilly and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is being able to help others heal and prioritize their mental health. It is something that I so desperately needed in times that I struggled and I want to provide that for other individuals. I want to stay true to my self and my story while also expressing my creative side and that really was where the healing heart club blossomed from.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The Healing Heart Club is a creative and artistic outlet where I primarily make affirmation bracelets and accessories. Additionally, I make essential oil bracelets and make personalized digital drawings. I am most proud of myself for diving in and trying something new. My little business is still very much in the blossoming stage, but I continue to stay true to myself and my brand by taking breaks, not putting too much pressure on myself, and having fun and creating! It hasn’t been easy, especially with balancing my own mental health, day job, and relationships as well as creating content and products. & it is very easy to let the fear of what others think or not being where you think you should be get into your head and stall productivity even more. The thing that has helped me overcome that is knowing that whether I reach people or not, I am staying true to myself , my story, and whoever I do reach I hope that I am helping them on their journey to healing and that’s what makes me keep going. The lessons that I have learned along the way are definitely to pace myself , take things slow, and try to find balance so I don’t talk myself into giving up. Ive also learned to accept that something I make or list to sell might not turn out how I envisioned it , and that is okay. The important thing is that I had fun doing it and it just inspires me on the next thing that I create. The Healing Heart Club is kind of a window into my own healing. Ive been dealing with my mental health since I was a teen and had moments where I felt very lost and misunderstood within my self, my own relationships and life, but even in the mental health field and with getting proper treatment. I really wanted to have somewhat of a safe place for individuals where I can share my story and experiences, resources, as well as positivity and encouragement around healing and that it is important and needed in everyones life no matter where you are at in your journey.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have a big sweet tooth so I would definitely have to hit up my favorite soda shop, Swig, in Mesa and Screamery Ice Cream in Phoenix. I also love to go thrifting and antiquing so I would go to the most amazing strip of shops along Cave Creek Rd including Tattered Nest, Audreys, Everything Goes, and 3 Vintage Chicks. I would have lunch at Lucis at the Orchard or Paradise Juice. Also can never go wrong with a coffee date at Coffee Plantation in Scottsdale & If wanting to get spruced up, definitely going to Salon Rock for a fresh hairstyle and occasional live music!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I really want to thank my family and fiancé who have always encouraged me to express my creative and artistic side. They also were and continue to be my biggest support system through my mental health journey. I additionally want to thank my friends who have shared and supported my little business along the way.
