Meet Donnie Win | Hip Hop artist & Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Donnie Win and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Donnie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly I just got tired of working for other people. Specially after realizing they make more off me than I ever would working for them. I felt like as long as I’m working for someone else I’ll never have the financial freedom to live the way I want. Starting my own business means I don’t have to answer to anyone i control my schedule, work when I want to and not because i have to. I decide what to do when to do it and how to do it
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What got me into music was music itself. Growing up I was never able to relate to people at least not the ones I was around. But I could relate to music. I was never able to express myself or voice my opinions which frustrated me because I didn’t understand why. It gave me a voice that I never had before and gave me opportunities to meet people who were like me in a way I’m forever grateful for that
It’s definitely a challenging career path lot of ups and downs but as long as you’re willing to make the effort I feel it’ll work out in the end just gotta keep pushing
I’ve had my fair share of upsets and mishaps but that’s part of journey. I learned from my setbacks which has helped me grow as an artist and as a person
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I don’t go out much I’m definitely an introvert. But when I do it all depends on what I’m in the mood for. If I’m hungry most of times I cook something rarely do I go out to eat but you’ll definitely find me in Tempe near mill ave or downtown Phx they have some good restaurants arcades, movie theaters, I’ll go watch a rugby game, go bowling, play pool sometimes I’ll go to car events and race it’ll depends on how I’m feeling but I’ll have a good time either way
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanna give a shout out to all the artists I’ve meet threw out this journey. Its too many to name but I feel like they all have helped me in a different ways without even knowing. Some motivated me to keep going when things were looking down some motivated me to expand my sound try new things listening to different genres be more open and have a willingness to take on any challenge and to always be myself
