We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Susan Taffer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Susan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
This is a question that is actually an evolution of thought!  I was determining career steps when my doctorate was published. It was “divine inspiration”!

I was considering the best way to enjoy my education, exercise my knowledge, and not become sterile nor stale within the “institution” of education.

I wanted and needed to create change in the way education in general is perceived. I actually experienced a “divine inspiration” while considering my next logical career choice. And as many of us can relate, logic does not always equate with inspiration.

First of all, who was I to imagine I could make an impact in the world that would elevate education and secondly, how in the world was I going to do it!

Well, that is just what I am up to – making changes in education that elevate the field.

What should our readers know about your business?
College for World Connections is all about Discovery! Knowledge and intellect are everywhere. They are at will through the internet, and now, through artificial intelligence generated software,

So, what is it exactly that we need to learn? It is all about Discovery – when we see and read about something we gain a new perspective perhaps. But when we discover something, when we experience it in a new way, we truly come to understand and integrate the knowledge as a whole part of our being.

Though at World Connections we are always developing levels and layers of understanding in our topic pods, we are not set out to “test” anyone according to any standard! We are only concerned that individuals understand themselves and the world around them so they may lead an extraordinary life. A life according to what they can perceive for themselves.

We are about discovery, self-discovery, and discovery of others in the world around us. Together when we connect with others, with our shared humanity, then together we can solve the problems in our communities.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When visiting Arizona, everyone should visit Sedona! The beauty is unmatched, and the smell of the pine and red earth together is uniquely memorable. Additionally, the Botanical Gardens is a super way to appreciate the desert plant life and climate. Mexican food and Margheritas is a definite stop – or two! If it fits my visitors, a night at the Casino, several to choose from and dinner is in order too! Then, I would steer them to Monument Valley and/or the Grand Canyon as they were leaving the valley. Should they have flown into the Phoenix area, a short trip to the white mountains would also suffice for the scenic variety Arizona has to offer.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many members of the Foundation who have supported this vision over the years. My first team of dedicated web developer, Victor Smilgys, and film specialist, Rees Candee, did a remarkable job in establishing the World Connections Foundation technological footprint. Additionally, our 9 Executive Board Members and the Advisory Board, have never given up on the vision to change how education is perceived. At present, Scott Wilson of Joticle has brought the World Connections Educational vision to LIFE! The College for World Connections is now working with the delivery of life affirming educational and self-development courses Powered by Joticle where Pre-K to Gray learning is accessible to everyone!
