We had the good fortune of connecting with Dulce Maria Guzman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dulce Maria, what’s your definition for success?
I define success when you have accomplished your most important goals and most importantly, being happy during the process of achieving your goals and once you are done getting to that goal you are also just as happy.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
What helped me get to where I am at today is being persistent, dedicated, and disciplined. It was not easy whatsoever but having those traits and know that being a registered dietitian is my dream made it a little easier. I am very excited to learn more about nutrition and how it can affect my Hispanic/Latino community differently to other cultures. Which it is one of the things I am going to focus on once I become a dietitian.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow, this is a great question but a hard one. Everyone that knows me knows that I am a foodie to heart so of course, the most important thing during this trip has to be food and drinks. I think my favorite spot to eat in Tucson is Los Apson or Sher e punjab. Wine tasting in Sonoyta and Elgin would also be a really fun thing to do.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people who deserve a shoutout during my process of becoming a dietitian and starting a really small business. This includes my friends, mentors, and professors at UofA.
