We had the good fortune of connecting with Edgar Esteves and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Edgar, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was born in Valencia, Venezuela and came to the states and overstayed my visa when I was just a year old resulting in not being able to “legally” get a job. So what I did was start my own business, I originally wanted to do it with some of my good friends at the time but they weren’t taking it seriously as I was so I bet on myself, opened up my business and it’s the smartest thing I have ever done. My dad knew an accountant, he helped me start an s-corp and the rest was history!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business would be considered a part of the film, music & entertainment industry but it’s so much more than that. What sets us apart is the family aspect and how close our team is – our company is made up of my sister, brother-in-law, my best friends and amazing people who I met a long the way. It wasn’t easy to get where I am today because I had to FAIL millions of time before succeeding. It was a 10+ year journey but I’m glad I kept working on crossing the finish line that I call my dreams. I overcame my challenges by trial and error, I’m not perfect and made tons of mistakes but looking back at it, it was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I always say God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers and I really do believe I am one of them. With that being said, I want the world to know that is being yourself is the most rare thing you can do. If you going to bet on anyone, bet on yourself. It’s the best investment you can ever make! Control your narrative and don’t get in your own way of accomplishing and conquering everything you seek from life! It’s possible!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I actually suck at this type of thing. When working as much as I do, you forget how to be a “normal” person but I really do enjoy what I do and helping others so the best thing I can show them is how dedicated I am to my goals and accomplishing them. If you see me focused and working, you instantly start questioning your own life and if you are going hard enough for your own dreams and goals. Making my dreams come true and spending time with the people I truly love and care about is the only thing that’s fun to me.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to my mom and dad. They deserve all the credit. Coming to The United States of America not speaking one word of english, no money in there pocket and with 2 kids including my sister & I. Seeing that motivated me to understand that anything is possible if you work hard and are determined for a better life for yourself. I am so grateful for my parents so shout out them for real. Point. Blank. Period. Love you Mom! Love you Dad!
