We had the good fortune of connecting with Elaine Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Founded in 2014, Dental Laser Integrations is a clinical training institute specializing in providing high level laser technology execution skills for private practice dentists and dental hygienists ( small business owners ). It was not hard to start this company, as we provide a multi-state required laser certification course; its another ballgame to stay in business. What sets us apart is that we cater to the end user, the business owner before the technician, and we understand the client journey from start to struggle to success. Our training platform has evolved because we stayed in close connection to our clients in the first several years, beyond our inception. We were not playing the numbers game, trying to cram as many people in a training as the room would hold–we were playing the long game. We know laser technology is a big investment in the practice, and laser training is a big investment in the team. We understand the challenges the owner faces to select technology, how to lead their team to next level patient care, as well as undergo yet another change for themselves to drive the practice to the next level . . . any entrepreneur knows its all about learning, execution and scalability and it starts at the top! Providing a people-first approach has allowed us to have the reputation and referral-based business that we have today.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a total valley girl! Arizona is where my parents met, where I went to college, where my business is based and have planted roots. The dry heat is therapy! Scottsdale, Uptown and Downtown Phoenix are my favorite regions in the city, so if Bestie is coming to visit, we have to check off all the following major boxes to really immerse ourselves and experience the best type of activities the valley has to offer: a hike, a spa day, coffee, cocktails and fine dining! An easy hike / nature walk would be at McDowell Sonoran Preserve, as it has paved parking and short or long trails in the gorgeous desert landscape. For a quick hike that serves as both a nice lower body workout and a city wide view at the end, Piestewa Peak. It takes less than an hour to the top, its never too packed, and gives you that great hiking experience. For those a little less adventurous to go out into the elements, I would suggest a walk around Tempe Lake, so they can get a locals’ look at the ASU campus and how the lake dazzles in the evening lights. Arizona is known for having some of the best tranquil spas in the nation. My favorite spa is The Sanctuary. It’s nestled near Camelback Mountain and it also houses one of my favorite places for cocktails with a view: elements. Going out for a girls’ night of dinner / drinks / dancing: Little Rituals or Melinda’s Alley for a specialty cocktail in a dark bar downtown, Renata’s Hearth in the Waldorf uptown, Toca Madera (I always prefer Mexican cuisine!), or Cafe Monarch right in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale for a fine dining. Old Town Scottsdale has a variety of spots to lounge or dance to different types of music, and ultimately puts AZ on the map as a destination for bachelorette parties, corporate retreats and meet ups! Detox at RAW Organic Juice Bar and sit and enjoy coffee & a DJ at Fair Trade Cafe — both are locally owned by female entrepreneurs! Support local while you are here!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t be where I am today if it were not for the encouragement, mentorship and support of my former bosses, Dr. Tim Taylor and Dr. Linda Ma. I thank them for giving me the opportunities to learn and level up in multiple arenas, from clinical, to personal, professional and financial. I would also like to recognize all of the dental professionals who have done their research to look for the best option (for them) to advance their professional and technology skills and who have found me, have worked with me, and continue to drive my purpose and dedication to clinical excellence. And best for last, I than my daughter, who inspires me everyday to be the best version of myself.
