We had the good fortune of connecting with SRenae Washington and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi SRenae, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I thought about starting my own business a lot of things crossed my mind. I thought about how it would give me freedom to miss work when needed because I have children and I don’t want to miss anything. I thought about eventually becoming a full time entrepreneur and not working a 9-5. Also I wanted something that I can do with my children and pass down to them eventually.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Stylez By SRenae is a women’s boutique for women of all shapes and sizes. We carry clothing, shoes and accessories. I started off just wanting to cater to plus size women because they have the hardest time finding nice looking affordable clothing. Eventually I decided I needed to cater to all women. It has been a struggle somewhat running a business. I am fairly new and still growing and learning in the process. I’ve learned to be patient and learn as much as I can as I go while tryin to build my brand!!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely visit Kobe’s in Chandler also Harold’s Chicken for some good ole catfish and mild sauce. I would probably go see a few movies or go horseback riding at south mountain. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I would like to shoutout my husband and children for believing in me. My mother and my siblings. A special shout-out to my sistas of Qweendom and my cousin Dee Riley who also owns her own company Thickumms.com along with another cousin of mine Sh’ree Jude who owns Foundations Early Education Academy.
