Meet Ellie Parks | Marketing Manager at Tequila Corrido

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ellie Parks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ellie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my unwavering determination to achieve the goals I set for myself, and a clear vision of what I want to accomplish. I have an enduring conviction to show up for myself and others, and truly enjoy cultivating team dynamics and community relations.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
After several years staying home to raise my four wonderful boys, I made the decision once they were all in school to go back to work full time. I will always be grateful for the opportunity I had to stay home with them in their first years- though delirious at times from lack of sleep, incessant questions, and the bottomless mound of laundry, my boys are full of life with endearing curiosity, and endless joy. I have become passionate about keeping it simple and enjoying and finding meaning in the small moments, and have felt inspired to bring this same passion into my own work. I jumped back into the workforce with both feet, learning by trial and error with my wholehearted commitment to excel…maybe even a little bit of imposter syndrome…and a little tequila never hurt! I am proud of the work I have done so far, and of the goals I have achieved. I’m driven, resilient, and have a penchant for consistency.
I take everything with a grain of salt and acknowledge the ideas that everyone brings to the table, as we are a team after all. I walk into a situation knowing I may fall flat on my face unless someone thinks my “dumb” ideas may actually work…homage to Ken Phox there! I don’t think of attributes that necessarily set me apart from my coworkers, as I truly love collaborating with a team to achieve mutual goals and operate with the same ethos in mind.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Gilbert is my town and I love everything from my Pilates class, to a glass of wine at my favorite place, North Italia, to my own backyard for some fun pool time. Grabbing drinks at the Epicenter is always a favorite, and I love going up north with my husband and children to enjoy some great weather and outdoor activities in our desert home.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say I’d have to give direct credit to three people who took me under their wing and have supported, encouraged, and really helped me navigate this role: a big appreciative shout out to Chelsea Smeland, Ken Phox, and Scotty Cummings, and of course, my husband Matt for always believing in me.
