We had the good fortune of connecting with Enoch Cincotta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Enoch, what are you inspired by?
I’m inspired when people use what they have to solve problems. I’m inspired by the natural world, and the human ability to create. I feel thankful to be living with a brain and body that allows me to witness and be inspired at all!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
REANIMATOR designs educational programming focused around sewing, bicycles, and emergency preparedness. Our curriculum is designed to invigorate an individual’s sense of agency, community, and an ability to create responsible change in the face of an uncertain future. We market towards individuals looking to respond productively to our current climate crisis, and who have an interest in developing real-world technical skills.

Over the years REANIMATOR has transformed from being a DIY sewing space, a bag company, a bicycle based food distribution company, a sewing repair training program, and in its current capacity – outdoor education program. I feel delighted to say that this business has changed to adapt to the needs of the people that we were serving. Obviously, with every transformation comes another set of challenges. Consistently rewriting the business plan, identifying ways to generate revenue, moving locations, etc, takes a lot of work and headache. As I’m getting older, I’m starting to have a little bit more compassion and focus with myself – leaning a bit more heavily on reducing our scope of operations. It’s stupid easy to start a business on paper, but creating systems and structure for a business to succeed is something that I am only now starting to get the hang of after almost 5 cumulative years in operation. Not a lot of people talk about reducing your output as a business, because in late stage capitalism, success is determined by how much output you generate. By simplifying our programs, we also reduce our energetic overhead – allow more spaciousness to develop programming that is filled with integrity and in alignment with our vision.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate my shoutout to the lovely and supportive people in Harrisburg, PA, Salt Lake City, UT, and Santa Fe, NM for receiving REANIMATOR and giving us a space to grow.
