We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Reed and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erica, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ll never forget how my mother wanted me to be an architect when I graduated highschool, and how I wanted to become a message therapist. It was the closest I could get to helping people in the medical field without having to deal with fluids. From a successful message therapy career, I returned to my original passion, which has always been writing. I’ve been writing novels since I was eleven, and I love to teach others how I’ve mastered this art. My career as a massage therapist funded my passion for writing, leading me to earn a Master in English Literature and Creative Writing. I made the shift to ghostwriting a year before my daughter was born, and I’ve never gone back to rubbing another butt, as we would once say on busy days at the clinic. Now, I help authors from around the world complete their books and self-publish — all within a timely manner. I believe when you follow your passions, you’ll never work a day in your life. I followed a creative career because it’s what I truly love to do.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I’ve learned about becoming a successful and accomplished ghostwriter and editor is to never give up. Yes, it’s hard to work from home, attract new clients, and prove your worth. It’s taken me a decade to get to where I am now, where I have to turn clients away because I’m so sought after to coach authors through the process of writing a best-selling self-help book. And what drove me to never give up is to always follow my passion. I love to write, and I love to teach how I’ve become successful to other people. That is my serves to humanity. To teach others to love writing just as much as I do.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
One of the most beautiful people I know, both in and out, is Aanchal Vash. She’s the owner of VASH Media and the Reach Out Foundation in Toronto, Canada. We’ve worked together on her latest book, Ongoing Success and Wellbeing. Out of all the book projects I’ve managed in the past in the self-help and wellness genre, this is by far the best. Inspirational. Motivational. And best of all, realistic. A reader would dive into this book and live a happier life because of it. Thanks to her willingness to bring me onto this project, I know my own life has been changed forever.
