We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Mooney and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The driving thought was wanting to do things my way and wanting to keep it fun. I’ve worked for several companies in my industry over the years and have picked up some tips of what works and doesn’t work for me and was able to develop from there. Keeping things fun is key though if I’m not enjoying what I’m doing, then why am I doing it?
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My floral designs have always been inspired by the nature itself, colors, textures, shapes, and movements. We’re surrounded by so much beauty daily it’s hard not to be enamored but it. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is you’re not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and that is ok, you don’t want to be everyone’s cup of tea.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think a perfect first day friend visit would be grabbing morning coffee/tea at Songbird then hitting a trail at Dreamy Draw. Followed by a late breakfast early lunch from Ollie Vaughn’s (quiche please!) and some vintage shopping at Retro Ranch. Other stops I’d be sure to include in the visit are SMOCA, The Desert Botanical Gardens, Crescent Ballroom (when we can enjoy live music again), Gracie’s Tax Bar, and Linger Longer Lounge. I’d be sure to do a nice dinner at Forno too because I’m always looking for an excuse to eat their ravioli! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Personally I have a lot of amazing women in my life that have supported, encouraged, and motivated me to be where I am today.
