We had the good fortune of connecting with Fannie Hershberger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fannie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have been a business owner since I was 18 years old. Over the years, I have had multiple businesses but the part of business that I enjoyed the most was the financial bookkeeping and taxes part of it. When Covid hit in 2020 and my other business was forced to shut down for awhile, I decided to start a remote accounting business.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is focused on helping small businesses and entrepreneurs get a clear financial picture of their business and ultimately save money when it comes to taxes. I am very much client focused and being a small business owner/entrepreneur for 10+ years before starting this business helps me understand the frustrations and challenges of other small business owners when it comes to understanding the financials of their business.

It was not easy to get to where I am at now and I am still not where I want to be. The biggest challenge that I faced was to become confident in myself and my vision for my business. Once I overcame the fear of failing and stopped listening to what everyone else was saying that I should do, my business really took off.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am an outdoor type of person so I might take them to Sedona, The Grand Canyon, or on a ride to the sand dunes in California. If we are planning on staying here in the valley, I love the Goldfield Ghost Town in Apache junction, camping and/or boating at Lake Pleasant, drive up to Dobbins Point (south mountain), go hiking (Verrado Stairs), visit the zoo and botanical gardens in Phoenix, visit downtown Tempe, or go tubing in Salt River.

Some of my favorite places to eat are Gus New York Pizza in Goodyear, Lees Sandwich Shop in Peoria, La Jacques Mexican Food in downtown Avondale. I enjoy trying new places to eat and when my friends visit that is usually what we do is try out new places that we have never tried before.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my husband for standing by my side and supporting me through it all. As a business owner, we have big dreams and can sometimes get a head of ourselves. He helped me focus on the present and what needed to be done now in order to get to that bigger vision.
