Meet Fanteasy Podcast – Kali & Montana | Two long distance besties that spill the tea on the books we read!

We had the good fortune of connecting with Fanteasy Podcast – Kali & Montana and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi FanTEASY Podcast – Kali & Montana, how does your business help the community?
Through our podcast, we created a community that we call our besTEA’s. This community is a place where all are welcome and loved. We encourage people to be themselves, speak their minds, and find new friendships. We have developed many life long bonds with people all over the world that truly provide enrichment to our daily lives. When we first began this podcast journey, doing interviews with creators of all kinds was just a seed of a thought that we weren’t entirely sure we could achieve. Now we have a wide variety of people we network with. This results in us being able to promote the hard work that is put into planning book based events, cosplays, and even all the dedication it takes to be an author.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What started with two friends sharing their love for books, turned into silly chats about having our own podcast, and finally we took a leap of faith and pressed record for the very first time. We are so proud of how far we have come in the last year of this journey. We hit all our initial first year goals along with many more we didn’t even think were possible. This journey has not been an easy one. Navigating a work/life balance as spouses and mothers, going through extreme seasons of grief, and just the simple fact that we don’t live in the same state. Long distance planning is an extra challenge we face weekly, but we make it work because this is so important to us.
Not only have our technology skills improved with all the new advances we have learned, but we have also learned what works best for us when it comes to interviews along with playing on one another’s strengths.
We want the world to know that our show along with the book community is for everyone. Our listeners are a huge part of how we got where we are and we wouldn’t be here without them. We are simply thankful for this journey and want everyone to know that any amount of support is appreciated.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being long distance actually makes this question really fun because we got to live exactly this last October. Montana lives in Arizona and Kali lives in Nebraska. While Kali was visiting, we were able to eat some yummy food, attend a book ball, and soak up the Arizona warm weather. Deigo Pops was our first stop for some delicious queso and tacos. Cinnaholic was also a dessert staple of that trip. Culinary Dropout provided a perfect pre event meal with a vibrant ambiance. That weekend, we found ourselves dancing the night away in the Ice Haus at a fantasy event hosted by a local event planning company, House of Flame and Revelry. Though we didn’t make the trip during that specific weekend, we highly recommend the OdySea Aquarium or renting tubes to float along the salt river. For all our outdoor adventure seekers, we love hiking the easy trails of San Tan Mountain Regional Park all the way to the steep incline of Camelback Mountain.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to give a huge shout out to our husbands, parents, grandparents, and close friends who encourage us to always push forward through this journey. It takes a village and we are fortunate to have just that. On a broader spectrum, we are so thankful for each and every person who took time out of their day to do interviews with us along with sharing our content Doing this has allowed us to share our story while sharing others as well. Each of these individuals has been a huge stepping stone in our growth. We would also like to offer thanks to the authors who created these magical stories that has resulted in the book community as a whole. Last but not least, we want to give a shout out to our listeners. They are the reason we can call what we do a job.
