We had the good fortune of connecting with Faye Urlacher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Faye, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I started this business in 2000 I thought it would be great to provide a service that offered access to art from all artists and galleries and wasn’t limited to what was shown on a galleries walls.
What should our readers know about your business?
We are a boutique art consulting studio and art gallery that represents both local and national artists. I think what sets us apart is that we are very hands on with all of our projects whether they are small or large. We hand pick each piece and follow up through the design process to installation. I know that art is accessible from many places so I think what matters is helping to select the right piece for the project that fulfills the needs of our clients. Our goal is to always walk away proud of what was installed.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There’s really so much to do here. A Camelback Mountain hike in the morning is a special way to see the beauty of our desert and city. For lunch, I would visit one of our local favorites like LGO or The Henry. A trip to Scottsdale for the Thursday night art walk would be a great way to check out the local scene. If the Phoenix Suns were playing- we would definitely hit downtown PHX and a game!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout would go to those who I worked with directly out of school. Two different galleries both owned and operated by strong females who really introduced me to artwork as part of the design process. This opened up my eyes to all of the possibilities of working with artwork and custom framing.
