Meet Franceasca Seiden | Writer & Healer/Alchemist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Franceasca Seiden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Franceasca, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
When I began SAHA (Sexual Alchemy Healing Arts) it was right before #metoo became a global movement and also right before Sexuality became an acceptable topic to discuss openly on social media. SAHA began after 120 days of consecutive meditation after noticing how many people; friends and strangers (including myself) spent giving toxic relationships all of our time and energy. I noticed how our focus and energy became depleted and most of the creativity dried up. Sexuality is creative life force, literally – it’s how we all create, to see it wasted trying to revive relationships instead of creating the life we want. At that time I was running Laicreatives, a digital publication and boutique marketing agency, my job consisted of attending a lot of events and socializing. I started to notice that most of the people who I was having conversations with me were experiencing similar strifes when sharing their relationship issues. A friend of mine suggested to combine some of the spiritual and healing modalities from over the years to help people. My background in arts and entertainment made me doubt myself, hence 120 days of meditation to find an answer. Thats when it came to me, its not that I would no longer be a filmmaker, writer – its in addition to that I’ll be working in the healing space. I had already had been teaching yoga since 2005, using sound bowls for sound healing sessions, a practicing buddhist and esoteric witch and begin my journey in rebirthing breath work so I decided to combine it in the moon rituals I was already holding and turn them into full blown workshops. To my surprise people gravitated towards it. Women and transgender would often seek group sessions and men preferred one on one appointments.
Listening to everyone I spoke to it became clear that a lot of us were carrying generational trauma, toxic shame that left us in freeze mode. So I began with removing pre-conditioned societal toxic shame that have been engrained so deep in us. The workshops gave a space for people to come and share, learn some creative alchemy (i.e. candle magick, Sigil drawing, Sex magick) giving them tools and exercises for a creative practice, empowering them to manifest their individual life’s purpose. Attendees consisted of artists, business professionals, sex workers. Workshops were held in Los Angeles, San Francisco. New York, Chicago and Miami. I also work remotely one on one with clients. I would say 80% of the attendees have incorporated magic, healing and mystic arts into their journey. They continue to help transform trauma into power. That is SAHA’s mission.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a filmmaker, photographer and writer. I began my career around 19/20 as a fine art film photographer taking black and white nudes mostly of my friends. At that time I also began to curate shows and work in at a small film company in Miami. After graduated with an MFA in film I started 3GZ Productions, a production company with my film partner and focused on making music documentaries and videos like “Darkbeat, An Electro World Voyage.” We also produced multimedia events for some of the biggest gatherings like Ultra Music Festival, Winter Music Conference and Art Basel. I moved to LA and began working as a writer/producer for FX Networks and Current TV as well as independent projects. A few years later I opened LAICREATIVES a digital magazine and boutique agency which focused on multimedia artists and events. Simultaneously, I took my years of spiritual practices (ashtanga yoga , rebirthing breathwork, meditation, spellwork and sound healing) and opened SAHA to work with people who are looking for alternative healing.
I think the most important thing I learned and continue to learn is to trust the process and timing of things. I know it’s cliche, but every time anxiety has crept in it’s never helped to worry about things that haven’t happened yet.
I think that the takeaway that people should know about SAHA is that there’s always someone to hold space without judgement.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to Mark Diaz for letting me play the sound bowls which encouraged me to invest in my own. He’s an amazing designer/artist and a wonderful friend.
