Meet Francisco Rodriguez | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Francisco Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Francisco, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve been interested in photography since I was a young kid. Over the years I continued practicing photography and increasing my knowledge about the art. Fast forward years later, my wife asked why not pursue a career in photography since I was very good at it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
At a very young age I received a camera as a gift, and I love capturing the special moments for my family. In my early 20’s I purchase my first digital camera. This allowed me to shoot more photos and not have to worry about the limitation of film. As time went on I wanted to learn more on how to improve my skills, so I went online and did research and watched YouTube videos on the art of photography. These videos and blogs covered topics like Shutter Speed, Aperture, depth of field, framing and editing. As my knowledge increased, the only thing holding me back were the limitations of my point and shoot camera. As time went on I would trade in my old camera for a newer/more powerful one. Until one day this led me to my first DSLR( Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera. Now I was able to take drastically better photos and better yet, the ability to shoot in raw format which gave me even more control on the final product.

Years later my fiancé ( now my wife) suggested that I should try making a career in photography. So her motivation inspired me to enrolled in college so that I could pursue a career in photography. So went to college, study photography and graphic design and now I’m a college graduate and I have my own business. It wasn’t always easy, But having such knowledge of photography allowed me to take in those classes a lot easier than most.

There’s many challenges that come with running your own business. specially in this field where there’s a lot of competition. But what I’ve learned is that you should always try your best and when you do, amazing things can happen. It’s been a long journey and I could had not done it without the help of my wonderful wife, who’s been along side me in this wild adventure. Her support and inspiration has pushed me to heights I could had not imagine.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of our favorite place to go to eat is Yarhouse. Its a very friendly atmosphere, the people are very nice and the food is delicious.

Harkins cinema is a fun place to hang, by chandler mall.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank my wife because she was the one who encouraged me to follow my passion, and she was there every step of the way supporting me and guiding me.
