Meet Gauthier Raad | Film Festival Director – Production Manager – Filmmaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Gauthier Raad and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As creative as the first challenge, and the biggest one is ourselves, most of the artists and the creators that I am that I’ve known throughout the years, have the same problem, low self-esteem, and not believing in ourselves as creative as I think, we have to believe in ourselves, and we have to support ourselves. This is the first step we have to believe in our capabilities we have to believe in what we’re capable of, and what we’re capable to offer to our community Support comes later do not expect support from your family or the people that surround you at the beginning people surrounding you. They do not know what you’re doing. They are not in your head and most probably they are a bit far away from the arts so the first step is to believe in yourself, and not to give up remember all of the people all of the artists, all of the engineers, all of the geniuses, who threw a lot of years were unknown to their communities into the public and people were trying to bring them down but these people now succeeded so I think the main challenge is yourself and then once you overcome this first and biggest challenge, the other challenges become so easy

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First of all, I would take my friend to eat, because I still believe that sharing a meal with a friend is something really important because sharing a meal and sharing food is something instinctive, so sharing food with your friends, or your beloved ones is something so important because it brings you together more than other things second of all, I would search and look at the arts if there are any art exhibitions in the area or if there’s an independent film festival happening, I would rather choose a medium size or small for Festival where I can go there and meet people and network and talk to the artists. This is the most interesting thing that I look forward to when I go to Film Festival I love having fun with people with my friends and having fun does not necessarily include drinks for me fun includes coffee and trying the newest and the coolest coffee places in the area. So: Meals, art, films, networking, and a lot of Coffee!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I like to think about the first movies I watched and the first video clips that I watched that were really my first inspiration. I knew. The sound of Music by Robert wise 1966 was my first inspiration. This movie doesn’t get old!
