Hi hans, is there something you believe many others might not?
Many business people think you should have a 10 year plan. I don’t agree with this at all. How do you know what will happen in 10 years? I could never have imagined that my company would change over the years. From just underwear to everything in the queer athleisure wear

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I studied at ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem (NL), where I attended the prestigious fashion design department (BA). After graduating in 2013, I started a fashion label with two classmates. After a period of 2.5 years, We parted ways and pursued my own path solo. In 2016, I launched my label FUNDIES for funny peeps!

For me it is important to be able to create what I want, without having to make concessions. I don’t make collections , but individual items. I am inspired by people from the queer community and by art and hysterical kitch. What I make is made from leftover materials from the fashion industry. I want to support social inclusion in a sustainable way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I like big contrasts. From long walks in nature. Sleeping in a quirky hotel or in a camper or just a tent. Stroll through the city and look at architecture. Discover vegan cafes and restaurants, drink coffee and a pastry. And Of course to a large amusement park with the most intense roller coasters available. Preferably on the same roller coaster a few times in a row until you almost feel nauseous.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
For me it is mainly a shout-out to my friends and customers. My company exists because of them. The biggest compliment you can receive is that someone actually wants to buy your creation! I have especially benefited from my friends in the queer community. It was precisely because of them that I was able to perfect my fit. But also the wise lessons of Hans and Geert de Rooi from the people of the labyrinths. Follow your heart in what you want to do, but always continue to question yourself. But why? Why do you want this? Why are you making this?
