We had the good fortune of connecting with harmony fulton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi harmony, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
THIS WILL BE AWESOME!!! That was the unicorn in me talking. My inner unicorn was not at all aware of the time, work, energy and relentless effort it would take to start and grow gooder goods. Which is probably good because if I would have had foresight about those things I may have been too intimidated to start. Instead, my heart said YES!! and then my mind and body got moving.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets gooder goods apart from others is we serve very, very, very great tasting nutritious food. Some places have great tasting food that leaves you feeling not-so-great when you’re finished and some places have food that’s nutritious but requires holding your nose to get it down. Our chef has figured out how to take good-for-you food and make it taste oh-my-gosh good!!! Every single day I am excited to clear plates from our tables that are basically empty!! I rarely have to ask how customers liked it because their plate says it all.

Opening and running a cafe has been a challenge but by consciously practicing one or all of our six values – powerful, playful, positive, generous, grateful and real – has definitely made it worthwhile and totally doable. It’s also helpful that we’re doing something that is beneficial for people’s bodies, minds and moods. Food effects everything and we are a part of the world that is making delicious and healthy options more available and desirable.

What I want the world to know about gooder goods is that our name came from our deepest driving desire to serve the greater good! We’re doing what we’re doing to promote and support the welfare of the whole world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would have them take a spin class at The Madison, a strength class at BODI and then visit Optimyze for a lil recovery. If they were still friends with me after all of that (lol) I’d take them to Rosita’s Place for chips n salsa and dinner and then to Green for a tsoynami. We’d finish the day off roading in my Jeep at the Rolls OHV Trailhead and watch the sun go down.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to my business partners, our generous investor Nate Lowrie and our wildly talented chef Joe Meyers. They are both hard working guys who are massively dedicated to doing good by bringing a positive mindset and nutritious food to our community. Through the inevitable ups and downs of a start up I have always felt that I could trust them to hang on through the tough stuff and high five when we’re winning!
