We had the good fortune of connecting with Reggie Rose Gonzales and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Reggie Rose, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Heart and Humanity. What drives me is my heart and humanity and all that comes with it. Compassion, empathy, and kindness come to mind. I started my business with a lot in my heart. My heart actually wanted to start my own business for 2 reasons. My 2 reasons were to start a honest business with high quality for any budget, and to be able to afford to get anything my parents want. Not just need, but want too. I am a caretaker for my mom and help take care of my dad so I would love to be able to spoil them like they did me my whole life.
Once my business partner Michael and I got the business plan down, we knew we wanted to aim for what most only speculate. High quiality work for those who need budget friendly service. We’ve seen the need for this personally. We’ve lived it. Now we can offer what most can’t. My heart goes out to every one of my clients and my work is very personal because of it. I want to help out all I can, even if I’m out there alone doing it.
Our client’s know they get great photography and fun customer service that will not break the bank.
What should our readers know about your business?
I live in Phoenix, Arizona and I have been active in photography for about 16 years. I began in 2008 with Image Manipulation and other Visual Media. This led me to find a passion for photography. I attended the Art Institute of Phoenix for a degree in Digital Photography. I attended an internship at a local multimedia company in the valley. I have worked as a Professional Photographer since 2016. In 2019 I branched out on my own with my business partner Michael Neeper and created Rose Visual Captures.
Launching our business in 2019 may have not been the best timing due to the unforseen circumstances of the following year that we all remember. But I do not regret starting when I did. Learning through trial and error was a much needed factor I did not realize I needed. I am glad we struggled because we gained experience I can never replicate.
Our business is very personal. We love connecting with people and sharing special moments of their lives. We offer photography for Portraits, Events, and Weddings. Each category can cover a broad range of sessions. Portraits can be for family, graduation, maternity, bridal, and so much more. Events can cover anywhere from anniversary parties, baby showers, to quinceaneras. Wedding photography is what I am especially proud of in our 3 categories. I specialize in elopements to small weddings. One major aspect I have noticed with the wedding industry is how much the word ‘wedding’ can take something simple and add on thousands of dollars charge for it just because the word ‘wedding’ is there. I don’t believe I need to cultivate a higher service charge just because it’s a wedding. My investment packages are perfect for those who do need more budget friendly options with quality work.
I’ve learned so much along the way and the best I have mentally gained, is to do exactly that….keep on learning. Never stop trying to improve myself, my business, and the overall experience I give to each client.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Phoenix is by far my favorite for options! My perfect time would start with some time outdoors in the morning, maybe the Phoenix Zoo with my family! I have 2 children that would love a trip there. After a few hours having fun there, we can enjoy a movie at AMC Dine In theatre at Esplanade 14. Near my home so I can go home for a swim then get Gino’s Pizza in South Phoenix and off to South Mountain to watch the sunset and enjoy quality time together.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My business partner Michael Neeper, my parents Peter Romero and Jo Ann Gonzales. These people have not only encouraged me for the last 16 years, but they have guided me to knowledge, counseled me in my stressful times, and above all sustained me when I was my most difficult. They’ve read and reread business plans, looked over promos, and took comprehensive looks over countless photos throughout the years. If it wasn’t for Michael pushing me past the point of comfort, Jo Ann teaching me how to photograph creatively, and Peter supporting me and watching my children so I can go to each session; I could never do this without them.
