Meet Harris Baker | Digital Marketer & Cat Guy

We had the good fortune of connecting with Harris Baker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Harris, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Cat people are not all crazy old ladies or weirdos. We are no more or less weird or crazy than anyone else!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from others is definitely my work ethic. Early in life, I kind of always coasted, always doing the bare minimum just to get by. It wasn’t until I began working at a digital marketing agency startup at a young age managing a lot of people and having a lot of client responsibilities that my true work ethic began to come up. While I wouldn’t recommend everyone do it this way for health reasons, sometimes I would grind until three in the morning to get work for clients done, something not everyone else was willing to do.

After a few years, that began to take a toll on my health, and I began to start to find a better way to do things – everything. Building out processes, learning shortcuts, finding ways to be efficient with my time, and continued education. I began to grow as a young adult as well as a marketer. I think going through those experiences working hard and ultimately finding better ways to function are what led me to where I am today.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Check out a Phoenix Suns game! While I am a Nets fan, the Suns have a pretty great team with Chris Paul and a young Booker and Ayton. They are worth seeing in person!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents for supporting me throughout my life, through all the good and more importantly the bad. They never forced me into anything I didn’t want to do, and gave them the freedom to learn and make decisions. They taught me how to be a good person and hard worker.
