Hi Heather, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Our thought process behind starting Giggles & Glam Mobile Parties was rooted in our shared love for our daughters and our passion for creating magical moments. As mamas, neighbors, and best friends, we often found ourselves daydreaming about how we could turn our love for party planning into something more. The turning point for this business venture came one day as we listened to our little girls giggle and play, pretending to do their makeup. In that moment, we realized that we wanted to create a business that would allow us to bring that same joy and magic to other families. In my history as a Marriage & Family Therapist I also strive to make meaningful connections with our guests and find moments to celebrate the beauty of their individuality and boost their confidence and self-acceptance. We saw Giggles & Glam Mobile Parties as the perfect opportunity to fulfill our passion for creating unforgettable experiences that celebrate the beauty and joy of childhood while helping youth embrace their individuality.

What should our readers know about your business?
Giggles & Glam Mobile Parties specializes in providing spa and themed makeover parties for girls ages 3-12 in the comfort of your home or chosen venue. We provide a personalized pop-up spa and salon experience equipped with stylish furniture, eye-catching decor, and confidence-boosting services and conversation!

Something that sets us apart from others is our themed makeover experiences that fully embrace a child’s imagination, with themed dress-up garments, keepsake accessories, and a personalized backdrop with props to create an immersive experience. We also have a strong desire to give back to our community of mamas. We provide a variety of services such as decor, picnic table rentals, party favors, and digital invitation creation to take the stress out of party planning for parents so they can just be present and soak in all the memories of their child’s special day. As we grow, we also want to prioritize hiring other mamas to help provide them with a flexible stream of income with competitive compensation.

We are still in the early stages of our business, having just launched in April 2024, however we have seen consistent growth each month as we continue to dedicate ourselves to consistent and engaging marketing tactics on social media as well as creating supportive connections through networking with people that embrace and support our mission and goals. Establishing a strong, personal connection with our clients has also been crucial to developing trust and rapport within our community, as many new customers come as a referral from a previous client.

Entrepreneurship comes with it’s ups and downs and a lot of troubleshooting along the way. I have found it so immensely helpful to connect with other entrepreneurs in my local community as well as the resources available to you through your local city’s small business development department. The City of Peoria has offered a great wealth of information to us as small business owners.

I’m so appreciative of my business partner, Chelsea Fortner, as we are able to really lean on one another through all of the more challenging moments as business owners and support one another with each of our different strengths that we bring to the table. My husband has also been my therapist and my biggest cheerleader through this whole experience, letting me vent and cry when I need to process through different challenges as well as boost my confidence to keep my momentum going.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way is to get comfortable with asking for and receiving help from other entrepreneurs and influencers in your community. In order to be successful as a business owner, you need to build trust and visibility within your community, and the best way to do that is by connecting with influential and experienced people in your community. We all succeed in supporting one another!

Our main mission here at Giggles & Glam Mobile Parties is to embrace girls’ inner and outer beauty with a little glam and a lot of giggles! We believe every girl deserves a day as unique and dazzling as she is. We live in a society that often pushes this comparison culture on youth that unfortunately can create struggles in accepting and embracing their individuality and push them to fall in-line with what’s “trending.” Our brand focuses on embracing and celebrating their individuality with some fun and light-heartedness, recognizing that their unique beauty is what makes them so glamorous.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite places to go is to the Arizona Boardwalk. Whether with kids or without, there is so much to see and do there! Johnny Rockets is always a must to eat while there. My absolute favorite ice cream place is Sugar Bowl in downtown Scottsdale, the blackberry sauce is literally heaven.

For the best fine-dining experience, Flemings at Park West is our favorite place for anniversaries and birthdays. Get the tomahawk steak and lobster mac, your tastebuds will sing.

One of my absolute favorite people and places is Lee Bone’s Fine Meats in Glendale, AZ. He is an absolute master at crafting unique seasonings, sauces, entrees, and side dishes. Watch his Instagram to see when he’s doing meal deals because every single one is jam-packed with flavor. He is our go-to butcher for the best meats and unbeatable hand-crafted sausages.

My favorite hidden gem for the best and most flavorful Mexican food is El Gordo’s at the Shell on 67th Ave and Cactus. Every single item I’ve tried on their menu so far has not disappointed me.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to thank my high school theatre teacher, Kami Green, for her continued love, support, and encouragement. I struggled with my confidence and finding my voice until I met her as a timid little freshman. She saw my inner sparkle and gave me the encouragement and support I needed to see it in myself and learn to feel confident enough to share it with the world. Without her mentorship and support I don’t think I would be half as confident as I am today, let alone having the drive and passion to become a mentor myself.
