Meet Imran Hassan | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Imran Hassan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Imran, what do you attribute your success to?
How we measure success defers for everyone. For me it is accomplishing a goal or a specific purpose. I got my first DSLR and started photography about a year ago. I was new to dslr and post-processing. Fundamentally believing in something, removing the negativity from around you and keeping at it is the key. Also, it helps if you love what you do. I loved the process and that pushed me to explore and learn more. I still learn. But I do think I am better than what I was 1 year ago. I think the path to goal maybe is a bigger struggle than achieving the goal. So motivation helps some of the times, but discipline and consistency takes you places for sure.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In my full-time job I am in IT professional. I write code and build websites. I have been doing this for about 8-9 years now. I like what I do. Once I received the employer of a quarter in a company and that was a lot of love I received from my coworkers. Some of the key things I learnt over time at work is knowledge is power. Also, being a people person helps connect with others. I get to work with different personalities at work and that asks me to get better at my communication to get the work done. I have also come to realize you invest in people and not always in numbers. Investing in people is key to a business success. Getting to know people closely has blew my mind sometimes. Some people are just filled with positive energy and they motivate you big time. Another thing that took me a while to realize is that if someone is jealous of you it does mean you are probably doing something right.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am in Arizona, USA the desert land. Although when you come here first you would not recognize this as a regular sand desert. Anyone visiting Arizona I would strongly suggest them to plan at least a week’s stay to enjoy some of the amazing places here. Getting out of the city towards Sedona, Flagstaff and following along from the south of Grand Canyon to the north are some very epic scenarios that are a must see. Arizona also has some ghost towns and if you are a photographer I confirm it passes the vibe check.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In my journey of photography I could not have made it so far without all the help around me. Firstly youtube was my main source of gathering knowledge and inspiration. Inspirations like Mark Denny(https://www.instagram.com/markdenneyphoto) and Peter McKinnon(https://www.instagram.com/petermckinnon). THey always drop crucial knowledge bombs on their channel.
I also wanted to surround myself with other photographers so I can learn from their point of view. So I joined an online photogprahy competieton gaming site Gurushots. You can compete as teams on same subject category. I was surprised by all the creativity around me. Check out my Gurushots account here (https://gurushots.com/imranhassan/photos)
