Meet Samantha and Victoria Brennan-Beck | Canine Enthusiast & Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha and Victoria Brennan-Beck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha and Victoria, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
My creative career, found me. I rescued my first dog in 2016 and she changed my whole world and view on animals; the way they are taken care of, how they are treated, the lack of voice they have for themselves and so it goes on. Dog grooming became more than my job or career, it’s definitely my passion and calling.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Dog grooming is a form of art in so many ways. Every groomer is completely different in how they handle dogs, understand them, comfort, groom, style and the list goes on. What makes Life in Paws Holistic Spa different than any other salon is, we’re a holistic spa that caters and cares about the emotional and mental well-being of your furry companion, not just the physical. We are very proud and excited to be able to provide a stress free, kennel free, one on one spa experience for the canine community. We use aromatherapy and offer CBD/CBG to soothe and relax them, never suggesting sedatives or doggie downers. Crystals are our go-to, to create a healing energy in the spa and to heal and rehabilitate our furry companions. We also offer hydro spa therapy, which is the luxury of bathing in grooming. Our hydro tub is like a jacuzzi for dogs which helps heal their muscles and joints, rejuvenating them for a stress free day. We believe in connecting and building a pawsitive relationship with the furry companions we get to meet and to create a home away from home. Educating pet parents is also very important and necessary, just as necessary and important as a grooming regimen. Being in the dog grooming industry for 7 years has been very challenging, emotionally, mentally and definitely physically. There have been many tears and times where I’ve wanted to give up and choose another career. Dog grooming is very ruff and is not a career for everyone. Learning how to handle and control your energy is definitely a reminder to myself and everyone who works with animals that cannot speak for themselves. Grooming is not only my career but my passion. Lessons I’ve learned throughout the years are, dogs are energy workers and will keep you on your toes, having a process is key for stress free, when you go into things confidently, you always succeed, always take your time, never rush and always listen to your gut! A friendly reminder to all is, dogs are living souls and beings that we have domesticated and it is our duty and responsibility to them, to heal and save them, just as they do us!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We definitely love checking out new places and experiencing new things, unfortunately being vegan limits many options as many places are not vegan or cruelty free. We typically host at our house or go to our favorite vegan restaurants such as the seed shack and the vegan house. We encourage everyone to research about the vegan lifestyle and take a step into a life free of harm, fear, slaughter and death. Make your body a garden, not a burial ground.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My fiancé. She is the co-owner and creator of Life in Paws Holistic Spa. Without her, I’d still be working for someone else, coming home crying and telling her about the change I want to make and not knowing how. I have no words to express my gratitude and love for her, and believing in us to make a paw print in the canine community!
