We had the good fortune of connecting with J.R. Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi J.R., what’s the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
When times start to get tough it’s important to remember that even though we may at times stumble that failure is part of the growth process and things often seem to get worse before they get better. The conflicts and challenges we face often force us to get creative and find new solutions that we may have otherwise missed.

What should our readers know about your business?
At CBS Insurance we’ve experienced a ton of change over the years. Some good, some bad, some easy, some hard. We’re big believers in the idea that no success comes without its share of failures and challenges, and we’ve really put the time in to ensure that the folks we do business with know that we’re he’re for them. Our success relies on the ability for those who do business with us to succeed, so it becomes a mutually beneficial endeavor in that aspect. We have a lot of love for the folks who help keep the lights on for us, and we provide as much training and support as we can to help them through each step of their way to success. One major thing our office prides itself in is not having any machines answer our phones. When someone calls our office during office hours they are met with a live friendly voice who is willing and ready to help. If for whatever reason we missed a call because our lines were all ringing or we were in a meeting, we ALWAYS call folks back within 24 hours. The folks we do business with love this, because for them it means that help is just a phone call away. Our commitment to those folks we do business with is that we’ll ALWAYS keep answering with a live voice regardless of how big our britches get.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Scenery – Take a drive up Dobbins Lookout on South Mountain Food – Anywhere that serves tasty Mexican food and makes a mean Tequila Sunrise Lounge – Magnums Cigar Bar – Speakeasy’s weren’t just popular around Chicago you know. 🙂 First Friday Art Walk – Get a glimpse of the local art scene and stop by a coffee shop or two for a double shot of culture Old Town Scottsdale – Can’t come to AZ and not stop by Old Town! Pioneer Village out by Anthem – Great spot to learn about Arizona’s old west history If Time Allows – I’d even take them up to Prescott for the day to spend some time around historic Whiskey Row.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give credit to my brother and sister who help me run our agency, and to our fantastic team members at CBS Insurance. We like to say that at CBS Insurance Inc. we are all part of a team at this office and we all rely on each other for support and to accomplish goals together. Each one of us brings a special talent as well as a fun motivated personality to the table, which allows us to synergize and work in harmony. Our agency has been around for 20+ years, and we are like a family who works towards success together.
