Meet Jackie Boss | Charcuterie Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackie Boss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jackie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Our thought process behind our business was simply just a side business to make extra income. Never ever did we imagine our side hustle would turn into a full time job. Truthfully I wasn’t ready to start a business. We have 3 young boys who are very active but my husband believed in the idea more then I did so he pushed me out of my comfort zone and I cant tell you how glad I am he did.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When I first envisioned Pine and Swine Charcuterie Boards, I was just looking for a way to earn some extra cash- I was a stay at home mom for a little bit and I really wanted to contribute too. My husband believed in me and what this business could be potentially one day. So I ran with it. I started Making boxes for content and giving them to friends and family to try and provide feedback. We created a social media page and uploaded daily. I’ve learned a lot along the way from knowing what to pair together, how long a certain order could last before going bad, to figuring out how to separate finances . So much was learned and to be honest I’m still learning things here and there. Im beyond proud of what we have created. I take So much pride in providing someone with such a unforgettable Board or Grazing Table. I want to give each customer that wow factor when they see their order. I love doing what I do. It brings me so much joy. We hope to expand in the future to something bigger and greater.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was coming to town for a week long trip, first off there wouldn’t be enough time to see all the amazing spots in Arizona but since I’m in North Peoria we would definitely make a stop at the Tipsy for some small bites and wine because it’s small and intimate with such a fun vibe. Then we’d visit family and friends. I’m so so lucky to have the most amazing family and group of friends who are just so much fun. We’d also have to make a pit stop to the best coffee shop in North Peoria, NW Coffee, it’s like the coffee shops you see in the movies – we can’t get enough. Then right next door is The Cross Eyed Cricket, your local watering hole. Their food is so yummy while still getting that bar feel vibe. Say it was this time of year to be exact (early November) we would head up to Mortimer Farms for their fantastic Pumpkin Patch it’s a must every year plus up north is beautiful this time of year. When we’re not going around exploring we’d most likely be at my kids sporting events and ending the night with a charcuterie spread and a nice glass of wine.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband deserves so much recognition. He is the back bone to our business. He encouraged me to make this business what it is today, without him I’m not sure Pune and Swine would be where it is today.
