Meet Jade | Musician/Creative Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jade and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jade, why did you pursue a creative career?
I have always been interested in music and art in general but never had the confidence to truly persue it. Over the past few years I have done some deep self reflection and I found that a lot of the people, places, and things in my life were not making me happy. As a result of that reflection, I rediscovered the joy that creating music brings me. It truly makes my soul happy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My goal as an artist is to do whatever I am feeling. I’ve told myself not to be bound by “the rules” of any particular genre or style and to just let whatever I’m feeling flow. Which is the inspiration for the title of my new album “Essence Flow.” We live in a world with rules and limitations at every turn and with music and any other art form, you can be completely free. No right or wrong and that’s pure beauty to me. While I do hope to improve my technical skills as an artist and find the balance between totally crazy with what sounds pleasing, at the end of the day anything I create is about releasing raw energy in a positive way and I hope people feel that.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I were showing someone around Arizona I would definitely have to take them on a drive to Sedona and then to Jerome as the views in that part of the state are truly breathtaking. I would also take them to The Haunted Hamburger in Jerome for lunch because what is better than lunch with an awesome view? If I were showing them around the Valley I would take them to a Suns game because they’re my favorite team since childhood.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
As previously stated, I’ve done some deep self reflection over the past few years and somebody who has influenced me in a major way is Thich Naht Hanh. I first picked up a used copy of his book “The Heart of The Buddha’s Teaching” at a Zia records years ago and it has truly changed my life for the better. His teachings made me aware of harmful things that I was mindlessly doing in my everyday life and how to implement change. I’ve had this book for 8 years and I still go back to it regularly and always find something meaningful. The books I’ve read from him have helped me find the confidence in myself to follow my heart and live a happier, more fulfilling, and authentic life. I am also thankful for the love and support of some amazing women throughout my life such as my mother, grandmother and a few special friends. I appreciate them more than they know.
