Meet Jamie Seeker | Business Operations Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamie Seeker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jamie, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Before starting Seeker Solution, I had been in business operations my entire career. I managed budgets, people, processes, customer service, schedules, etc. for multiple departments and locations. In the last job I had where I worked for someone else, I managed their medical practice and worked closely with vendor accounts and business relationships for the practice as well as networked with other business owners. In those circles I was always treated as a peer and respected as the mastermind behind the medical practice, even though I wasn’t a fellow business owner. It was in those circles that I realized for the first time that I was no different from them and that they looked to me for my opinions and advice just as much as I respected them for theirs. As the medical practice started going through changes and I began transitioning a lot of my responsibilities over to the owner, I began notifying my networks that I wouldn’t be the contact person for some of those responsibilities much longer. This was when I received an overwhelming response from business owners, CEOs (my colleagues) asking what I planned to do in my next steps. I received multiple meeting requests to discuss what it would take for them to get me to work in their businesses. I knew it wasn’t often that business owners created positions out of the blue and asked the candidate what they wanted their salary to be, on a regular basis…let alone multiple business owners. I had interview requests and job offers from people without even having a job defined! I understood then for the first time in my professional life that I had something that companies wanted and all I had to do was figure out what that was, and monetize it. I decided that I didn’t want to pigeon hole myself into another company working for someone else when I was clearly already seen as an expert in business operations. So I did an inventory of my skill sets and bottled them up into solutions that I could sell. That is how the idea for Seeker Solution was born.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Seeker Solution offers solutions to businesses in: Strategic Planning (business plans, implementation, goal setting and accountability, etc.), Financial Management (budgeting, forecasting, P&L and cash flow management, etc.), Training & Development (leadership development, corporate training, leadership development, executive coaching and accountability, etc.), Human Resources (workplace investigations, recruiting, hiring, firing, performance management, policy, etc.) Marketing Strategy (marketing plans, implementation, goal seting and accountability), Process Management (process evaluation, process efficiency, quality control, operations management, etc.) Needs Assessment (business evaluation, identify strengths, identify weaknesses, give recommendations for implementation). But the way we look at it is that we idintify client strengths and maximize them by prioritizing their time and focus in those areas and walk with them in the ever-evolving journey of realizing their full potential. The way in which we do that is through our strategic planning, financial management, training and development, human resources, marketing strategy and process management solutions. This approach is what sets us apart from others. I am most proud to work with my team and to experience the wins with our clients. We are where we are today because we have satisfied clients that talk about us! Our journey has not been easy by any means but we have a vision for growth and have stayed the course regardless of the circumstances. We’ve learned that things never turn out the way we expect them to but when you have a plan and are prepared for best AND worst-case scenarios, the challenges are much easier to overcome. What we want the world to know about our brand is that we are here and we can help. You don’t need to be miserable, you don’t need to run your business alone, you can achieve the vision you have for your company AND live the life the way you actually want to.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d suggest going tubing on Salt River, heading over to Sedona for cliff jumping and fishing or booking a staycation at one of our local resorts. We’d go to local breweries and restaurants native to us. But my happy place would definitely be to take a couple of days to just hang out and spend time catching up with each other over drinks while relaxing in my pool with the grill fired up!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Goodyear Economic Development (The InnovationHub), Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce and the people involved with them were instrumental in my company’s startup story. Of course my family and friends that encouraged me along the way, particularly my husband’s support and empowerment to help me find my path.
