We had the good fortune of connecting with Janelle Anakotta and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janelle, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always loved art, and going from hobby to sharing it with others is defiantly a dream come true.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I sell my nature/ space paintings on Etsy, and a local store. It definitely has its challenges because being an artist does not have a consistent income. I was all other artists to know to not give up, be aware of changing trends, wants needs etc. and keep it fresh!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Vancouver! It’s the best city. See the Olympic cauldron, the sea wall, gas town, and skiing on my favourite mountain- Blackcomb. And take the to eat at the top of Vancouver revolving restaurant.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I don’t have anyone in particular; it would be all the lovely strangers that have purchased and supported my art.
