Today, we’d like to introduce you to Janelle Stahl. Janelle was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Michelle Robertson.

Janelle, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been an outside-the-box thinker, a creative, and a word lover. It probably started with lucking out and getting some of the greatest teachers ever, each of whom played pivotal roles in fostering my enthusiasm for language and writing. In sixth grade, I was one of the few who loved diagramming sentences, and in high school, I was always thrilled to tackle a new research paper,

When I announced to my parents that I’d be pursuing a degree in liberal arts, they tried everything in their power to talk me out of it, their main argument being the lack of get-rich potential. I ended up with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and English, followed by another Bachelor of Arts degree in K-12 Spanish education, and later a Master of Arts degree in Romance Languages. All the while, I fended off questions about potential earnings and career options.

I knew after a few short years that the classroom wasn’t where I wanted to be. In my heart, I knew a more creative path was pulling at me.

I began my creative career as a technical proofreader, then moved on to creative proofreading and editing. Soon after, I was tapped for my bilingual editing skills. I finally felt all those years of studying grammar and structure were paying off, and I could see my career path taking shape.

It didn’t take long to shift into creative and technical writing, making words work for both small businesses and large corporations. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, I started writing books, too!

For me, finding the right words and putting them together in a meaningful way is like a puzzle; it’s a puzzle that takes shape uniquely for every different client and brand I write for. It’s a puzzle that takes a unique shape for every piece of my personal writing, too. And when the right words finally come together to convey the perfect sentiment, the exact feeling I’m trying to express, the satisfaction is immeasurable. It’s what reminds me–every day–that following your dreams and staying true to yourself is exactly the path everyone should take!

Please tell us more about your brand, Firestorm Creative
I started Firestorm Creative after spending more than 20 years writing and editing for businesses of all sizes, from large corporations to small businesses. My goal is to help brands stand out in a constantly growing and competitive market, and that means never cutting corners and always looking for new and better ways to say things. Businesses could easily spend hours every day working on quality content to share with consumers, but that pulls them away from other things. It’s the goal of Firestorm Creative to alleviate some of that burden by delivering a wide variety of quality content and social media management so that businesses have more time to spend growing and interacting with their customers. Firestorm Creative helps businesses deliver engaging, relevant content that is unique to their brand so they will stand apart in the marketplace and gain traction with potential customers. I’m proud of the fact that every piece of content delivered is specifically created for the individual businesses I work with, and everything is checked for quality so that clients receive writing that’s ready to be published. There’s no one-size-fits-all at Firestorm Creative! I meet one-on-one with clients to assess their needs and build tailor-made plans to help them grow in their online space. When clients succeed, I succeed–and that’s why every client success story makes me proud.

Michelle Robertson has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Michelle and your experience with them.
Michelle is amazing, and I wouldn’t have portraits taken anywhere else! From initial meeting to the final keepsake products our family received, Magical Memories by Michelle is absolutely the best experience I’ve ever had with a professional photographer.

Luckily, we met Michelle before our younger daughter graduated high school, and she was able to schedule her for a senior picture photo shoot. Of course, we’ve been through the years of standard portrait studio pictures, and we’ve even had a few photo shoots with other photographers in. years past, but nothing compares with the enthusiasm, professionalism, and excellence delivered by Michelle!

Even three years later, I can remember Michelle’s attention to detail and willingness to answer every single question we had. Our first meeting was so informational, and I loved the fact that her office is filled with professional examples of keepsake photo ideas, which gave us so many of our own great ideas for family gifts, portrait poses, and keepsakes of our own.

Now, our daughter is off at college, and I absolutely love looking around our home at the amazing collages and keepsake boxes full of her photos. Each and every one of them holds a memory of her high-school days! Michelle has an uncanny way of connecting with her clients and finding out what’s important to them; she worked with my daughter to incorporate all the things that were special to her. From action-packed diving photos to loving pictures with our family dog, Michelle caught it all on camera, and even better, she turned the entire photo shoot into a fun adventure.

I can’t say enough about the way Michelle got rid of my daughter’s nerves, made her feel special throughout her entire photo shoot, and delivered professional images that showed a confident and lovely high school graduate. It was impactful for all of us in the moment, and even more so, now that our daughter is away at college, those lovely photos on our walls keep us company until she comes home to visit.
