We had the good fortune of connecting with Abbey Yoder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abbey, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As a creative from the start, growing up as a dancer. I have always felt a pull to be creative. Creativity keeps me endlessly inspired. As an artist, I decided to take that as my foundation in starting my own business. I wanted to turn my creativity into. a business through my products, and my services because I find so much joy in: making one of a kind designs, connecting with others through movement, inspiration, and story, and building other people up mentally, physically, and in their brands. You see, my passions are many but I know that I have a gift to share, and I know that everyone out there also has a gift. My thought process was as simple as that, My goal is to give people the tools they need in order to build themselves up and feel supported always. I want people to feel safe in knowing that we all have flaws but by connecting, sharing and growing together we are truly unstoppable. I am here to create a positive environment around and spark joy!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Hey everyone!

My name is Abbey Joy Yoder and I’m a lover of all things creativity, connection, and wellness. I’m currently a student at Arizona State University graduating with my degree in Communications, Integrative Health, Entrepreneurship and Innovations and Digital Marketing. I am also a certified Yoga and Pilates instructor and have my own Etsy shop and Digital Design Studio called TheJoyfulcoStudio. All of these speak to my passions and are represented in my site, The JoyfulcoStudio. Think of it as your one stop shop-you go-getter you 💫.

Here’s a little bit more about me!

I grew up in Frederick, Maryland and began dancing following in my older sister’s footsteps and found a passion. I continued on to go to the Rock School for Dance Education, and then progressed to the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. Dance for me was an outlet for my creativity. I loved the idea of having an impact on someone, sharing emotions, and telling a story. The lessons and experiences that I learned from dance have shaped me into the person that I am today: creative, inquisitive, and determined.

While dancing I also completed my 200 hour yoga certification and began teaching and exploring combining my knowledge from dance and yoga into one! I then decided to further my knowledge by starting at Arizona State University to complete my degree. However, I still felt that something was missing in my life and that’s when I found Remedy Pilates in Arizona. This is where I completed my PSC pilates certification. I love helping others achieve more balance within themselves and truly believe in the power of movement to heal.

Another form of expression for me is through my art, I began my TheJoyfulcoStudio on Etsy as a way to share my creations, my joy. I do hand embroidery, digital graphics and prints, and printed apparel. It is a little piece of me that I hope will inspire you! I also use my art in working for clients in telling their stories as companies and brands. I love making people’s dreams comes to life, whether that is through building a logo and website for them, creating a marketing strategy, or managing their social media. It all fuels me with connection and joy.

My goal is to give people the tools they need in order to build themselves up and feel supported always. I want people to feel safe in knowing that we all have flaws but by connecting, sharing and growing together we are truly unstoppable. I am here to create a positive environment around and spark joy!

I look forward to sharing more JOY with you!
