We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasmine Weigand and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jasmine, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
I believe the one thing about the home baking industry that outsiders are unaware of is the time.

The time is takes us to create the vision the client has for their special day. Whether it be a wedding cake, custom cookies, or a simple cupcake the planning is tedious.
The time it takes to grocery shop for all the ingredients that go into your dessert.
The time it take to actually bake these desserts just right. Some times you run into errors and have to start over.
The time it takes to actually decorate these custom desserts.
Good now we are done.
But we are not we still have to package these desserts and sometimes even reliever them.
There is a lot of time that goes into each order

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an exercise physiologist who has a passion for baking. I started a side business called Just As Sweet Co. I wanted this company to represent me as to why it is my nick name J.A.S. I found this love for baking when covid hit. I needed something to occupy my time. I was 30 weeks pregnant when I started. I now have a 3 year old and a 10 month old. Has this journey been hard? yes .is it still hard? Yes. Is it worth it? Definitely. There has been countless nights where I barley get sleep because I am filling orders. My time with my kids comes first than this but I know one day this will pay off and I’ll get to do what I love full time. I am still a pretty small shop but I will not let that stop me

Friday Activity 1: zoo day!
•day at the Phoenix zoo. Seeing the giraffes is a must!

Saturday
Activity 1: lunch at joy ride taco’s
Activity 2: night out at downtown Gilbert

Sunday:
Activity 1: brunch and music at whiskey row Gilbert

Monday:
Activity 1: sip and paint night!

Tuesday:
Activity 1: pool day!
•so many great pool spots to hit in the Phoenix area!

I’m from a smaller town in Illinois. I follow this gal I went to school with and she started decorating cookies. I have always wanted to try. So after seeing a few of her post I decided I’m going to try myself! I still love watching her page for inspiration! She has a cute business called wild flour bakery she is located in tuscola Illinois
