We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Higgins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi jason, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson my business/career has taught me is that perseverance pays off. No matter how many roadblocks or setbacks I have faced, I have learned to push through with unwavering determination and belief in myself. Every challenge has only made me stronger and more resilient. I have learned that success is not always easy, but it is always worth it in the end. It is crucial to stay focused on your goals and never give up, no matter how tough things may seem. Through hard work, dedication, and a positive mindset, I have achieved things I never thought possible. This lesson has truly inspired me to keep striving for greatness in all aspects of my business and career.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My brand is Jupiter Rings Buffalo Sauce. Me and my son Rashaad started the business in late 2017 , when we took 1 bottle of sauce to a new local store in our hometown Lexington, Kentucky. We got an email back the next day from the buyer of the store wanting to order multiple cases and that is how we knew it had a hit. A few months later we moved to Phoenix and my method to madness when I moved here was to put my bottles in as many people’s hands as possible, because we did not know anyone out here . I literally did everything from door dashing and giving my bottles to the restaurant owners when I would pick up orders. We would do samplings at fitness centers, nutrition centers, nursing homes, farmers markets, and various events around the valley. My son had a life threatening injury back in late 2020, so that derailed alot of things we had worked for and towards, so I had to take break and be Father 1st and put things on hold. It was and still is hard to deal with running my business without him next to me at this moment but he told me to not give up and keep going. Iv’e learned along the way that life can change at the drop of a hat and you have to do what’s best for you and your family first and everything else will fall into place. As of now we have multiple global partnerships with Nascar, Hot Wheels Monster Truck Live, University of Kentucky, just to name a few and our product is sold in 4500 stores and in 9 different countries.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am incredibly grateful to pay tribute to my Father, Edward Higgins. His unwavering resilience in the face of challenges has fueled my determination and motivation to excel as a father and a hard worker in all aspects of my life. Witnessing him juggle multiple jobs, start his own business, and care for my siblings and me while taking on the responsibilities of marriage and parenthood has been a profound inspiration. As he embraced his faith and devoted himself to God, he taught me the invaluable lesson of prioritizing spiritual strength to overcome any obstacles. I am in awe of his work ethic and his exceptional qualities as a father, and I owe all my success to his guidance and example. He is truly the epitome of a remarkable man in every sense, and I am forever grateful for his influence on my life.
