Meet Jason Mansfield | Small Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Mansfield and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was that I wanted to do something I was passionate about and I wasn’t getting that from the job I was at.
I also figured if I am working this hard for a company that I have no stake in why not just work for myself.

What should our readers know about your business?
Polar Bear’s Pop Culture Shop sells new and second hand toys, collectibles and other pop culture items.
We take pride in our customer service and love talking about the things we sell. I am excited to come into the shop everyday. Even after almost 4 years that excitement is still there.
I think most businesses have their ups and downs and of course Summers in Arizona are always a challenge, but we try our best to plan ahead for the slower times. Luckily we have a pretty good following from our customers.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I honestly don’t go out much since the business started,
I would try and take them some local taco shops for food and try out a lot of the local non chain restaurants.
If it is cooler out maybe drive out to South Mountain and take in the view.
I know it isn’t too exciting, but I enjoy the simple things in life.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out everyone who has shown us love and support since the beginning. Any successful business needs a foundation and the toy collector community in AZ has been great.
It also helps having great partners and I have that with James and Tianne.
