Meet Cristina Keller | Founder & Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cristina Keller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cristina, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I used to think the question was “Should I keep going or give up?” Now I see it more as, “What is this moment trying to teach me?”
When I opened Skin Fairy, I was amazing at treating skin but brand new at running a business. There were months where revenue looked great but cash flow was scary, or I was in the treatment room all day and still trying to be the marketer, manager, and cleaner at night. I definitely had the “maybe I’m not cut out for this” thoughts.
What helped was separating feelings from facts. The feelings said, “This is exhausting.” The facts said, “Clients are rebooking, referring friends, and getting real results.” That told me not to quit—just to grow my skills and get better support.
So for me, I keep going when the mission still excites me and there’s evidence I’m moving forward, even slowly. I let go when something no longer matches who I want to be or the kind of experience I want clients to have. Skin Fairy taught me that hard doesn’t mean wrong—it usually means you’re leveling up.

What should our readers know about your business?
Skin Fairy Aesthetics started from something personal—I wanted to create the kind of place I wish I had found when I was struggling with my own skin. A space that’s results-driven but also kind, where people feel safe, heard, and never judged.
What sets us apart is that we balance science with heart. We focus on real skin transformations, not trends, and we build long-term relationships with clients instead of quick fixes. I’m most proud that we’ve grown through trust—clients bringing their families, referring friends, and seeing genuine changes in their confidence, not just their complexion.
Getting here wasn’t easy. I was an aesthetician before I was a business owner, so I had to learn leadership, finances, and marketing while still working full-time in the treatment room. There were challenges with cash flow, hiring, and figuring out systems, but I overcame them by staying close to my “why” and being willing to learn instead of pretending I had it all figured out.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that authenticity beats perfection, and that people remember how you make them feel more than any treatment name.
What I want the world to know is that Skin Fairy isn’t about perfect skin—it’s about confident humans and a place where someone can walk in unsure and leave feeling powerful.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I say anywhere in downtown Phoenix! There is so much to explore down there!!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My good friend Cheryl I went to school with! She owns a lash studio now and is amazing
