Meet Jason Shulick | Lifestyle coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Shulick and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jason, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
At 29, I quit two jobs in three days with nothing lined up. I had no idea what I wanted to do, but I knew the skills and talents I possessed. I also knew I had money saved to take this risk. I believed in myself, and I invested in myself. I am a firm believer there’s no better investment than investing in yourself. I analyze risk based upon what I’m looking to achieve. It usually goes back to a math equation. I assess risk by understanding what it is going to take to go from point A to point B and how much risk I want to take to get there. This way, I can figure out the best path(s) to take to get there.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started Andorro to help people take control of their health and wealth. In addition to helping people maximize their lives I also provide C-Suite business consulting advice to help companies maximize their profitability. Honestly, I don’t know anyone else who can do what I do. I able to run companies, and transform one’s life from a financial and health aspect (body composition, performance and anti-aging). I transform minds, bodies, and bank accounts. I’ve got the knowledge, talent, and experience.
With an undergraduate in accounting, a master’s in professional accountancy with a specialization in tax and being 100% logic driven, business is second nature to me. I’m math-oriented and results-driven. I used to fix distressed companies and then sell them for my clients. Dealing with crisis after crisis was very challenging and unbelievably stressful and I eventually I realized I wanted something more impactful. That’s why I started Andorro: to help people take control of their health and wealth. I’ve seen the overweight/obesity and wealth disparity epidemics first hand: First, I was the only one in my family not obese. Second, I watched my parents make multiple bad major financial decisions, which severely crippled their lifestyle in retirement.
Look, your life is a business so you need to run it like one. I don’t care about your feelings; I care about your results. Understand, you only get one body, so you better take care of it. Everyone needs financial literacy, not just for wealth, but for peace of mind and your health. I push people to be strong in both.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d start at LGO. It’s close to home, has amazing pastries, casual food, and a Cheers vibe where everyone knows your name. We’d hit up Global Ambassador at night—Sam Fox’s hotel with Euro flair, killer city and mountain views, and perfect ambience at the lobby and rooftop bars. Buck & Rider is a must for sushi, seafood and steak. Hillstone rounds it out: unbeatable food, from appetizers to sandwiches to main dishes. I’ve never had a bad meal there. We’d golf 3-4 days: Camelback Ambiente for layout, We-Ko-Pa for desert views and challenge, and Raven for a lush, tree-lined course that’s rare here. For a day trip, we’d definitely go to Sedona, golf at Oak Creek Country Club and then dinner at The Hudson for phenomenal American food.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A mentor I had was my late boss, Ron Turcotte from Cratos Advisors. I worked for him for 13 years. He was like this is what needs to be done and just let me do my thing. He gave me the foundation to run financially distressed companies across various industries in retail, manufacturing, and wholesale. This encompassed companies from aerospace to home products industries.
When I quit my job at 29, Dave Garrison who was at Deloitte and recruited me in college, helped me bridge the gap. He’d just started his own CPA firm and brought me on as a contractor to help prepare corporate tax returns. That opportunity allowed me to make enough money where I was able to take a 14 month sabbatical until I started working with Ron restructuring financially distressed companies.
