We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I believe Hair Rituals helps the community by providing good quality hair services at a fair price, allowing my clients to build their confidence and help them express themselves. I also have a focus on creating a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community so that everyone who sits in my chair feels welcome.
What should our readers know about your business?
At Hair Rituals you can expect to be treated like a co-creator, a collaborator. I believe hair is part of self expression, and it’s my job to translate that expression from ideas into the best custom cut/color we can come up with together!
I consider my business a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community. I enjoy offering gender affirming hairstyles for all those who sit in my chair.
It’s been a challenge at times to find the right salon – but the best solution I found was to open my own business and rent my chair so I can create the safe and welcoming environment for all my clients!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my friend to see a concert at a local venue, the marquee, or the yucca tap room. I love thrifting so I would bring them to rocket a go-go, and shirts and things. I also love gems and minerals so I would bring them to black market minerals in the az mills mall and happy, high, horny, healthy on mill ave.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to recognize my loving family for their dedicated support while I have built my skills and my business to where I am today! Without them I could not do what I love.
