Meet Jerry Williams | Beautician (Lead stylist)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jerry Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jerry, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My business choose me . I honestly always had a passion for making people look & feel good about themselves since I was 8 years old . Something about bringing my creativity to life . So instead of going to the medical field like my mother . I let my natural talent grow .

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe I have a gift in touch & feel with hair . when it comes to natural inner beauty. where I’m at today with my creativity of being an artist I noticed how I am able to think outside the box in difficult situations. Where I’m at today professionally I’m in a good place from understanding. Growth and business does not come overnight you just have to keep putting in the dedication in the hours. It was not easy to get to where I’m at now because it’s one thing having a natural talent yet turning it into a business and gaining business structure was more difficult for me. I learned that you always have room to have growth in anything that you have a love and passion for. I had to accept that, not knowing everything and having to fail along the way, actually teaches you a lot of zest and growth about anything that you Face. I want the world to understand that my brand enhances, your natural beauty, and I come from a place of love and care when it comes to how I deal with my clients.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
OK honey before we start this, you know any occasion that you go out with me you’re gonna have a great time laugh love the energy that’s around you and you never know what’s gonna come next because we’re always living Extravagant lifestyle baby. We are definitely going to a tasteful breakfast. I’m talking about fresh ingredients.. unlimited mimosas trust me your girl loves to drink and have a great time. Specially, eating some tasteful delicious well seasoned food. After breakfast let’s go visit a lounge ( music , spoken word, no if I see it an art exhibit… get ready for some culture . Again I live to meet new people and being a surrounding with laughter and great conversation. So if it’s mingle hour, let’s go mingle and let’s go make some new friends because I always feel that at any opportunity we can make a new companion for life. I’m more of your charcuterie board type lady especially with a nice wine to finish it off with that’s kind of have more wind down my night depending on how I feel we might go ahead a little dance club, let’s move our bodies for the evening. Or you normal West Coast girl I love to hit a taco spot in my night off with. For day two after we get our rest and enjoy food it’s time to get up and have a nice hike. It doesn’t matter where at mountains Forest are to even walk by a body full of water . I think it’s truly beautiful how Mother earth has crafted so many wonderful things to see. All the Turnup is always going on. Always think it’s important to have a day of rest take care of your inner self maybe even if we go do a little physical activity working out , or just sitting by the pool and relaxing and having drinks that’s my type of Extravagant weekend .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shout out my parents they have always encouraged me, to stand out from the rest of the crowd. I have always pictured myself going into an occupation I love, and they make sure that anything I set my mind to I was able to achieve. I would love to for sure dedicate my success and growth to my daughter. Having her has truly helped me see the beauty and passion in the reason why I get up every day. I also like the shout out my mentor Chere Nickole. Who took me under her wing and showed me the dues and don’ts of the industry. It was a blessing to be able to start my career in my hometown Salon studio 69 hair design. I was able to grow within my legacy and see my full potential being around a great Group of like-minded individuals. Recognition definitely goes to Madame CJ Walker for being the first black millionaire woman to create her own hair products.. i’m just thankful for my supporters of my friends and my family, who have always had my back in my ventures of growing my business and success to the next level.
